Hey man, were you getting this boomy sound between 2-3k RPM at all? Did that help eliminate or minimize that after installing that vinyl piece? Thanks bud.
Yes. I was getting all sorts of noise. This eliminated about 90% of it.

Bee bop, those turn signals look awesome! Hoping they go on sale soon, a little pricey but would love to have them.

What's wrong with it? ... it's not apparent by looking at the photo.
It hummed like I had off road tires on it. Not sure why it went out but the dealership laughed when I pulled in asking for them to warranty it. Can't blame them, drag radials, pro charger, catless headers etc...all scream "void"

true. if it was a front one, I'd maybe say you could ask them to help... on the rear, you're probably putting a little more stress on it than it was tested with.

Either way though, Ford probably would have said no dice. Ah, the perks of modifying a vehicle...

Did you see the thread on this? They were claiming 15 HP increase at the upper end of rev-range:

Hmmm...This seems a little hard to believe. I may be wrong but my gut tells me no.

This was yesterday, but I cut up some mass load vinyl to see if it helped remove some sound coming from the transmission tunnel after the Steeda Tri-ax race shifter install. It worked great! really close to being as quiet as stock. Cruising, it might actually be quieter.

Did I mention that I love this shifter!

I may have missed this but how do you like the shifter? I' interested in doing this as well. Was the install a bitch? About how many hours for a shadetree mechanic?

Your Sound insulation idea is a good one.

HISSMAN.....can you post up some quick instructions on how to remove the center console trim? I'd like to do the same sound insulation that you did.

Thanks!!

Gave the Stang a sponge bath, then took a drive to see my dad for Veterans day, since we are both veterans.
Thanks to all the veterans!

The console trim is very easy. This is from Steeda's instructions.

1. Remove the panel covers in the front of the center console by hand. These are held in by clips and
magnets.
2. Using a 7mm socket remove the 4 bolts (2 on each side) which hold the center console to the
transmission tunnel. These are located in the front of the center console under the access panels
which were just removed.
3. Unscrew and remove the shift knob.
4. Lift the parking brake to its highest position.
5. To remove the center console, open the center console storage area and use a flathead screwdriver to
detach the plastic center console cover as shown. This is held in by 4 clips in the storage area, 2 clips
on the side of the console and 2 clips on the front of the console. Once the 4 clips in the center
console storage area are released simply lift up to detach the 2 clips located on the side of the center
console.
6. Detach the electrical connector underneath the cup holder and continue lifting up on the console, to
disconnect it completely.
7. Use a flathead screwdriver to release the three prongs holding the shift boot to the reverse lockout
collar and then remove the center console completely

I may have missed this but how do you like the shifter? I' interested in doing this as well. Was the install a bitch? About how many hours for a shadetree mechanic?

It took me about two hours give or take. I wasn't really keeping track. What cost me some time was removing the drive shaft...That isn't necessary. Just put a jack under the transmission once you have the car on jack stands. remove the rear transmission support and lower it down as far as it will go. You will have enough room to do everything. It really isn't a hard job. Just time consuming. I did it by myself. A friend would have been nice, as I had to keep sliding out from under the car for one thing or another.

Added the spoiler yesterday "350 track pack" and blacked out the GT emblem today. They finally got the rear panel bumper gap situation solved @ least on mine.
