I wasn't venting chief. I was just asking a question. The solution to my issue was to not install them at all...and that's what I did...LOL. People on forums never get in my way so you can say anything, wont bother me one bit.

I must have the upgraded brackets already. Had they been any smaller I would have returned the kit. The V2 bracket is sufficient but not robust. I still take it easy and don't yank on it.

What was your solution? Went to install mine tonight and the passenger side does not line up. My hood is perfectly aligned so messing around with that isnt something I want to do. So much for that 20 minute install.

His solution was to not install them.

Like I said previously. The quick and dirty way to "fix" it, is to take the drillbit that redline provides, and widen the hole on the bracket. And then maybe spray a little paint on it for some rust prevention.

Exactly plc268...I didnt install them. I find it hard to believe that my hood may be mis-aligned (as told by Redline)...when its closed the gaps are just fine. The distance the bracket hole was off for the windshield fluid line IMO could not have been fixed with aligning the hood. If it did, my hood would be so far off it wouldnt even be funny. Didnt return them...probably sell them. They make great stuff, just didn't work for me.

So with the bracket not straight will that effect the way the gas strut performs? I have no issue attempting to make the hole in the bracket bigger, but will it work as intended once installed.

No, it will not affect performance as the gas spring end fitting can swivel on the ball stud.
