anybody added trans cooler, results.

hey guys, my Stang, when fully warmed up runs about 200* on the street.

I thought we really wanted them to run about 180*????

I love the new Mishimoto double capacity stock location and appearing cooler,
but it is $450.

Anybody have anything they have done personally that made a nice difference?

I already have AmsOil LV synthetic fluid in it, and lowered it maybe 3*, but
does heat up a lot slower....

any advice?

What are you looking at to measure temp?

The cylinder heads should run 200+ when fully wamed up.

The transmission temp is regulated to be at 200 ish. 200 is the best temperature for efficiency and longevity. Running at lower temperature is not always a good thing.
Plus all auto mustangs come with factory trans cooler.

....and if 200* is normal, for performance, than I guess that is fine.

I look at the factory dash with trans temp displayed.

I just heard that decreasing trans temps increases life 35%, and running it at
200 all the time decreases life 50% ?

That's the old fluids. New standards are totally different.
