Deer: quite possibly the dumbest creatures in existence.

That looked like a hella good driving road you were on, though.

I always thought the deer whistles were snake oil but I tell you, I have a set of the Bell Automotive 22-1-01000-8 on my 3000GT and I have seen the deer run away from about 50 yards. The Mustang has a different type but I don't see the same reaction.

These oversized rodents are terrible out where i live.... every fall and spring the roads turn a nice shade of red. I was just thinking about it the other night driving to work with the windows down...... so this is what the normal smell of the zombie apocalypse must be like.
Nailed 2 within a week in my S197 last year.... just hoping I can come out of this season unscathed.

1st hit

2nd hit

Until you are hunting them, then they suddenly become the smartest critter in the woods.

Not sure if it could be a closer call:

That happened to me once driving in the mountains of California. It was night and I came around a big hairpin turn and a buck and a doe ran out in front of me.

The buck was closer and it literally jumped over the hood of my car. It was pretty impressive. The doe wasn't far enough out so she just ran back into the woods. It got my heart rate going and I was glad that the deer was so athletic that I didn't hit it because they can mess up a car pretty bad and wouldn't have dealt with the guilt of hitting it. All ended well.

I've hit (2) deer and (2) boar and many snakes while living in Florida. one of my cars I hit the deer with was a '98 GT Vert and I ended up with a antler grazing my shoulder when it came thru the vert top. the other hits were in my company cars.

Was that rt8? Sure looks like upstate NY.
Scares me, I drive all over upstate NY, 130 miles each way on my commute.

I've lived in Florida for a total of about 5 years and hadn't hit any animals but it is possible. In South Dakota it was flat with miles and miles of corn, soy bean and sun flower fields. Hardly any woods. Deer would jump out of no where hiding in the tall corn fields.
