Consumer Reports Crappy 15 Mustang Reliability

Consumer Reports Magazine gives the Mustang poor marks in Owner Satisfaction and Reliability.

On-Line they give Average or Above Average in everything except Body Integrity, yet the overall reliability is 'Much Worse Than Average'.

WTF - I Love my 2015 GT and have had no problems. CR makes it sound like the whole car is ready for the scrap heap. :doh:

Consumer Reports is a joke, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Hell if CR was anything to go by you'd think every single BMW motorcycle had an impending rear-drive shaft failure still (It was a rough six years for GS and RT owners sadly) and that every Harley Davidson on the road was still built like it's the 70's (they aren't.) I'm mostly speaking coming from a Motorcycling background about CR but They remind me of all those bike tests where they talk about one bike having significantly more traction than another bike - because they rode both with the stock tires and only one of the bikes had suitable tires for where they rode. If you don't know anything about tires then you are going to believe the reviewer's conclusion that the bike is shit because it doesn't have enough grip for Twisty Roads,

Hell I remember on their BMW's & HD's are the worse bike ever article they admitted the results were skewed due to what was being reported as failures, small option items. The study showed most failures as being small items with repair costs of less than $200. CR also said that non-touring bikes generally faired better because they had fewer of these "add-on" items to fail. They also stated that costly mechanical failures were rare on most all of the bikes, and those who have Premium Brands are also more likely to report a failure and throw a fit, over those who do not.

CR has been a joke for years. They have always given bad marks to Ford due to Sync/MFT etc. Wondering how they rate Mylink or Cadillac CUE? I remember they shit all over BMW due to their system a few years ago.

Funny how all the issues stem from stupid technology and touch screens etc in a car.

My 5.0 and my 6R80 are reliable, that's all that matters.

My car has been much worse than any other recent purchase. The driveline vibration problem alone has cost me literal days of time- back and forth to the dealer, rental cars, etc. Part of the problem is that the average Ford dealer is not that competent and they really don't care if a problem costs you lost time or if they inconvenience you time after time. My Dodge trucks have been problem free. My Honda was problem free. My Mercedes was a PITA but the dealer always had a clean, new loaner waiting and they never called and told me to come get my car until it was really fixed. Ford has been a real disappointment to deal with and the vibration problem is now livable but it isn't perfect. Body panel alignment problems bother some people more than others, but it was big problem in 2015. Now the cars are having a high rate of AC evap core failures. Probably a 1000.00 job if it's out of warranty. So, yeah, this car looks great but makes me nervous long term reliability.

The way they bucket "Reliability" is a joke. When I think of reliability, I think of my car's ability to get me where I need to go, all the time. In that regard, mine has never had a single issue. They need to differentiate Reliability and Initial/Long-term Quality. The panel gaps, rattles and such would be dings on the quality score.

Right about at the 1-year mark and haven't had a single issue with my car. All I've had to do are oil changes and tire rotations.

CR is another GM payed off rag they always give Ford products bad reviews. I have had my Mustang since May 2015 have had NO problems.

How do you like the SS compared to the GT?

10,000 miles on mine and the only issue so far is my paint is peeling on my driver side mirror. It will be covered under warranty but I haven't had the time to deal with it. My dealer won't just get me a new one, they said I have to bring it over so they can take pictures and make a claim. After the claim gets approved I have to take it back over for them to remove it than back over to install it. I refuse to let my car sit there for weeks why they mess around. I might just order one myself and have another place paint it instead of dealing with them plus then I wouldn't have to be without my car at all. $200 out of pocket might save me alot of headaches!:headbonk:
