Switch from Koni to Ford Racing Dampers

Question: if I want to switch from Konis to Ford Racing Shocks - do I need new shock mounts? If I remember correctly, the shock mounts need to be drilled out wider for the Konis. I assume this might become a problem putting Ford Racing shocks in there now.

I would replace them, they are inexpensive. I have to ask though, why would you want to change from Konis to FR?

I'm not sure yet. If I do it would be for ride quality. The handling is amazing but the ride quality leaves something to be desired. I think perhaps they are overdamped for my springs.

Yes, they are a bit much for the SP080s. You'd be much better off with FRPP track dampers or the Steeda non-adjustables.

I'd have to agree. I'm running the Koni's with steeda progressive and it's even a bit much for daily driving.

Probably too much (particularly in back). No wonder your ride is stiff. For stock PP springs Im running no more than 3/10ths (0.75 turns) in the front and only 1.5/10 (0.375 turns) in the rear. IIRC the SP080 arent a ton stiffer than stock PP springs (lower, yes)

You want just enough to eliminate extra bounciness at high speed if you're hunting for comfort. I wouldnt swap out for Steedas unless you're at minimum (0 turns) and /still/ think they're too stiff.

Would love to see dynos of both. I've asked multiple times, no response.

If you want me to drop 9-hundo on your custom dampers I need to see some technical documentation as to what makes them different than a Koni.
