Does anybody else get water accumulating inside the door space? After heavy rain (or a car wash), the water in both my doors seems to get trapped and only pours out the drainage hole when the door is opened. Seems bizarre that the door forms an almost water-tight seal when closed! Suspect its something to do with the wax in the door?

You want to open the door and slightly pull out on the rubber door molding and a ton will come out. There are also two small holes on the actual door itself where water comes out..

Thanks, the holes seem to form an almost water tight seal when the door is closed?!

I don't think so now that I re-read your question lol. The action of opening and closing the door helps it swish around in there probably making it more noticeable.

On my '13 I used to stand there with a rag in each handing swinging the door open and shut (without closing it) to fling most of the water out.

Everything seems to be fine with mine. No water buildup with my car doors and I would know as I wash the damn thing almost as much as I drive it.

Blow the doors/trunk/grille/trim/lights/mirrors out with a leaf blower or air compressor before you dry. It will minimize the "leaking" after, and make your drying job easier.

One issue that sometimes results from this is that you're more likely to get water spots from the remaining water drying on the paint while you blow out the rest of the car. Combat this with a drying agent (Dodo Juice Time to Dry) or a spray wax (Optimum SprayWax).
