Roush mufflers don't last?

I got my car with 13k on the ticker and roush axlebacks on it. Right at about 14k the driver's side muffler started rattling really bad. It was horrid on cold start. Well I wanted to sell them, since I changed everything. so I contacted roush and of course it's not covered since I'm not the original purchaser. No way to replace just the one can either. Pretty shitty quality in my opinion. Most companies offer lifetime on exhaust components.

I installed mine and torque to spec. 10 months later they were a bit loose already.

It wasn't the clamps. I torqued them a couple times. It's something inside the can. I thought it was the tip at first, but that wasn't the case either.

I get that, but at least work with someone to get a replacement part. Also, they only offer a 90 day warranty. A muffler should last much longer than 14k miles.

On the last generation they were pretty commonly known to rust.

Often times, the baffle material inside will come loose and that's what you are hearing. No option but replacement.

No idea what those on the 11-14 coyote were made of but I've seen used ones and they looked terrible

I don't know what the internals of a Roush muffler are made of, but 409 stainless will eventually rust unlike 304 stainless which is much higher quality. In this short time I would say a spot weld failed inside of the muffler

They're 304, part of the reason I purchased.

Things can happen inside any muffler though, just a tough break. Would be nice if they'd sell individual replacements though.

Borlas are warranted for....One Milllllion miles (say with Dr. Evil accent). Also to the original owner only.

Never had a problem with a Roush product, knock on wood. I think it's bad form to bash a vendor based on your experience with a used product you don't know the history of, but that's just my $.02
