IMO, trying to directly contact your regional rep is probably one of the worst things you can do. Stop and think, how many dealers does the rep have under them, 500, 1000? How many customers does each dealer have? It's not the reps job to answer customer questions, in fact Ford is not selling you a car, they're selling your dealer a car and the dealer is selling it to you. If your dealer is unwilling or unable to get you the info you need, maybe you have the wrong dealer. If they can't verify that they have an allocation they probably don't. If they can't show an email from the rep they probably don't have one. Remember, it's YOUR money they're after.

Not sure if you paid an ADM or not, but assuming you did, maybe you should evaulate your options. Knowing your ADM, maybe its easier to buy a new one on Ebay or elsewheree at the same price or cheaper, get your car in a week and be done with it? Just a thought without knowing your particular situation.

Interesting - with the Dealer No. and Order No., Ford Performance was able to confirm that my car was "in the system," which meant it was a real order with a real allocation. Have you pleaded your case at FP? Call 800-367-3788, and hit 1 when the system answers.

That doesn't mean they have a allocation just that they placed the order

Well they gave me a great price, and that's why Im being so hopeful and persistent about trying to confirm this. I know they got an r or 2 last year, and I hate to keep bugging them constantly about it but it looks like that's what I'll have to do. I mean I signed for one with a deposit, if that doesn't happen and they've had my money for that long preventing me from getting this vehicle, isn't there consequences?

Well they said mine was a real order last year and then at the end of the build year it got bumped off. I think it still says material hold if your dealer doesn't have an allocation as well.

Sadly enough, having an order and dealer number is no guarantee of getting a car. My local dealer only gets one allocation (non-R) and had sold his for '16 to a forum member, Bhermz I believe. He contacted the rep and was told to go ahead and order another one for me and she'd try to get it pushed through. I had a VOC with all the numbers, but the order got cancelled. My dealer gave me his '17 allocation and the same deal, MSRP. I had to change the color from orange and wound up with yellow w\ OTTS. I picked it up last weekend and I'm loving it!

I picked up my R Monday and was back at the dealer today to get my paperwork and read him your first post. His words "the dealer doesn't have a allocation". He said the dealer is hoping he gets one. Sorry my friend. My dealer didn't have a allocation until he called the state rep for me while I was in the office on speaker phone and asked if he could get a allocation for me. The rep must of owed him a favor a got me a R allocation from another dealer Somehow. There is always a hope but it sounds like he doesn't have one right now.

FP couldnt tell me either, if my dealer had a true allocation, even though i begged them and Deysha at least 10 times. She said she couldnt find out that info. All she could tell me was that there is an order in the system and it is UMH.
I trusted these dealers had allocations but i just wanted to be sure because my first one i ordered in 16 didnt and asked her to check that one too and she still couldnt tell me.
Lol... oh well. One is getting scheduled soon and the other will be after winter.

That's good for you. We are not talking standard 350 allocations here. The guy who started this thread was promised an R back in MY'16. It was explained to me by Mike at ford performance that MY '16 was a huge problem in that dealers were taking orders for non allocated R's (thinking they could get one). The problem is that there is no transparency in this ordering process and we are left at the mercy of the dealer to not mislead or misrepresent. How many people have actually insisted on confirmation from the ford rep that the R order they have is backed up by an allocation?

Some have said it..... get as much as you can in writing and hope for the best. Mike from ford performance was speaking of the MY'16 R allocation issue as last years problem. I hope he is right and that ford worked out the issue.

Ya I've talked to Mike several times, and probably says shit everytime he sees my caller id. I hope they did I mean it's in there so I don't know if they've fixed this issue. Doubt it
