Just bought my 16 GT with Interior and Wheel Package a little over a week ago. Got it home and had it parked in front of the house. The wife and I are sitting out on the patio admiring the car when I start checking out the wheels... I notice that the front wheel spokes look a little different than the rear(pics below), so I look at the other side. They look the same on the other side, so I pay it no mind there, but the passenger side wheels are definitely not the same. Took it into the dealership to have their warranty guy look at it. He saw what I saw and took pics; sent them off to Ford to see what they want to do.. Said he'd never seen something like that before, or nobody else has noticed.

Has anyone ever had an issue like this? What did Ford do about it?

EDIT: Now I think I see. The metal part of the spoke is thinner toward the tire portion than the other right? *spoiler*

I must be missing it. Do you mean the color, or the shape? I put the one over the other in Photoshop, and beside the difference in angle, they both look the same to me.

Ha.same wheel but looks like they have a few different masking templates at the wheel co. That causes one wheel to have a thinner looking machined spoke. Would be a hard one to get corrected.

Look at the spokes. They taper down to a thinner width as you get closer to the tire.
OK yeah i see, yeah that's weird.

You got yourself a wheel from another assembly line / batch.

They'll be replacing that or I'd lost my shyte.

The wheel with the thinner spokes likely had less material removed during machining. The more they cut the wheel face the thicker the spokes appear. Probably just a tolerance stack up between casting and machining. I would hope they correct it for you. My OCD would not let it go LOL.

I bet if you put the wheels on an accurate scale the thin spoke wheel would weigh more.

That's a first, never seen something like that lol. Can't say I would have figured that out for awhile.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the rear one tapers thinner toward the outer rim. The front kinda stays the same all the way out. The Service manager seemed to think they will replace the wheel, so hopefully that one matches. I looked really hard at this one since I had some quality issues with my '15.

I'll definitely be losing it if they don't make it right!

Problem is our natural sense of OCD will never unsee the difference in the odd wheel and feel paralyzingly awkward about that wheel, direction
