No kidding. Give me a g'dam dyno sheet for the Stage 1 at least and ideally the Stage 2 with the launch of the product, not "sometime after".Like to see dyno sheets before and after then track times. I like to see how Ford power packs do
You'd have to go with the no tune required PMAS, which supposedly nets decent gains. I'm skeptical about any gains provided my CAI's (tuned or non tune) to begin with.I'm confused by a common theme here. If you want the Stage 1 "for the tune", but are going to use a PMAS or Steeda or someone else's intake, you might as well just get a Lund Palm Beach Dyno or Livernois or some other local custom tune and more than likely achieve more power. This warranty is valid if it is installed by a ASE/dealer mechanic and only for the combination of the Stage 1 filter in the stock box + tune, not any other intake. That tune was not calibrated for any aftermarket intake, whether you think it'll make a difference or not it's grounds to deny warranty. Sure it's easy to switch out the intake, but... meanwhile you're spending $800 with a Stage 1 + someone's intake to increase risk, not reduce it.
The was ping was clearly audible. Many others had the issue as well. The people at Ford Racing said it was normal and harmless... There were multiple thread on it. Mine pinged on the Y and N settings. Here are a couple:15GTBEN, how did you know you '12 was pinging? I do not hear or feel anything abnormal while driving or idle . The Procal will read error codes, would it show up here?
Yes, I know the no-tune but still... $800 just to have someone else's intake instead of a tested Stage 2 Package. Not making sense to me.You'd have to go with the no tune required PMAS, which supposedly nets decent gains. I'm skeptical about any gains provided my CAI's (tuned or non tune) to begin with.
Optimally, I'd want to see a baseline dyno with overlay dyno results from stage1 tune. I'd also like to see datalogs. The ford racing tune I ran on my 2012 GT pinged like a MOFO.
When I traveled to Madison, NJ a lot for work, Tommy's Garage seemed to bea place to go.So, I ordered the PP1 from Levittown Ford. Anyone know of a reputable place in Northern New Jersey that will install?
Thank you.
Have to run a catch can to prevent pinging on a factory performance tune = bullocks. The S197 track key cars were instructed to run oil separators in order to eliminate the pinging. I'm guessing any of the cars with the pinging on the Ford Racing/Ford Performance tunes would see that eliminated or greatly reduced by running an oil separator in conjunction. I could be wrong though.
