If true; it just feels half assed and not a priority to take this long to cobble together a list of parts off their shelf. and it's a choice between super expensive or not a complete kit.

FP has been very consistent on this message for months, and I am really disappointed. I thought they were just talking in generalities until they finished the required engineering on two OEM options. I expected a turn-key external cooler kit that was totally engineered and just needed to be bolted into place - not a boxful of parts with instructions on how to order the rest of the non-OEM parts before you have your local speed shop figure out how to install it.
I'm really disappointed too. I have no problem turning a wrench, but if I install this myself, have an oil leak and my car turns into a fireball on the track - Ford will have plausible deniability on my warranty claim. :tsk:

I would actually be fine if I have to swap transmissions and install the full track pack solution and I would be willing to do it myself as long as I end up with a car that is fully warrantied and the parts aren't insanely expensive.

I really hope there is an option where I can keep the car, keep my warranty, go to the track and last the full 20-30 minutes of an HPDE. I'm going to feel screwed over if that isn't possible.

So here's the latest from Ford Performance - pretty much echoing what the OP said 2 months ago:

1. An add-on transmission cooler kit will be available from FP as soon as early September, but it will not include the external pump, some fittings, wiring, etc. You will have to buy something like a Welden 9200 external pump (http://www.weldonracing.com/#!store/r0nxr/!/9200-A/p/56212366/category=15047045) and wire it to a power source yourself.

2. The OEM solution eventually will be a kit that includes the same coolers, tranny, fittings, etc., as on the Track Package. The kit with all the parts will be in the catalog "later," but for now you can go to the dealer parts department and order all the parts separately to create your own "kit."

3. Stay tuned for news about the differential cooler...

There was no info on pricing or warranty coverage.
I would create my own kit. Did they provide you (I assume no or you would have shared) a list of the part numbers to create our own OEM?

I don't think it's the official Ford Performance announcement. You're mileage will vary until an official announcement is stated made.

The real disappointment is if try don't actually make an official statement either way. Don't leave your Ford customers hanging for too much longer.

Cheers

Ford needs to shit or get off the pot. Right. Ow the options are homebrew cooling with loss of warranty or potentially taking a bath trading up to a 17 with ADMs. Trading up to a grandsport will soon be a very real option and may be a better deal than a 17.

When debating on getting a Tech or Track, I came to the conclusion that it would be much cheaper and easier to add a trans and diff cooler than to add all the electronics and cooled seats....so I planned to pay for these items...I'm just waiting on different options to select the ones that works best for me....could be a Ford solution ..maybe not....Either way, Ill have one hell of a track capable Tech!

Given the cost of a transmission swap and the likely retained value of your current car, why not look into a trade for a 17 if you could find one at MSRP and get all you want for maybe just a few dollars more since you can now get the Tech seats with the rest?

You don’t want to know

This was in no way an official announcement - just sharing the little bit of information received during a phone call to FP. The official announcement of the lower-priced option should come in early September; there was no projected date offered for the higher-priced option, although it was mentioned you could go to the parts department at your Ford dealer to figure out what to order.

Let down is an understatement. :tsk:

I agree it's an option, albeit a costly one both in my time searching for a dealer and in dollars. I think I'll wait and find out definitively what Ford / Ford Performance does with the coolers and then decide.

I don't know if anyone's posted about this before but I went to the Shelby Mini-Nats at Sonoma Raceway yesterday. I was parked right next to the Shelby American booth and they had a 2016 Tech Pack with lots of prototype parts that they were testing out. They wouldn't say what they had and they wouldn't open the hood but when it came in to park after one of it's track sessions I could CLEARLY hear a transmission cooler pump in action. I spoke to one of the guys working there and they said that they were indeed working on a transmission cooler solution for the Tech Packs. Not much other info than that but it must have been working well because they went out to the track over and over and over all day long.

It's better than no solution. Void the transmission warranty but a solution.

We knew about Shelby American working with Ford Performance on a trans fix some time ago. If Ford is still working with Shelby the trans warranty should still be good.

Why in the world is it taking forever to release a cooler kit !!!!

It's not like the are re-inventing the wheel, they've known about this issue for quite some time now.

I hate waiting for stuff sometimes.

And if the current rumors are true. FP isnt really developing any kits; they are grouping existing parts into a packages to sell as a kits.
