You know what i want more than a sunroof. Heated side mirror for every model... I wanted a minimum sport car, so i didnt get the premium. I 100% regreted that when i figured out the base model didnt have heat side mirrors lol

I don't think a moonroof (its moonroof people, sunroof = metal panel, moonroof = glass panel) would fit the S550 very well. I am very curious why Ford didn't bring the glass roof back though, I guess the contour of the roof was an issue?

A moonroof is the one thing I really miss from my SHO. Great to open up on a cool summer morning on the drive into work. If it had been available I would have looked for one.

After much debating - I have decided to wait on the 2018 refresh to see if they are going to offer a sunroof sense it is so close anyway.

That also allows me to have time to save to buy and order a new one instead of buying a gently used 2016 that isn't speced exactly the way I want it.

The glass roof on the S550 would of been the truth honestly. I was shocked when buying my car that they didn't carry this option over to this body style.

Glass roof is always awesome, but it cost and weighs a ton.

I miss the look of the night sky from my old Mercedes coupe, apparently it was standard on coupes. Car drives like turd, but hell, laying back and seeing the awesome night sky through the roof was the unique kicker.

You do know that Ford hasn't offered a sunroof in the Mustang since 83?(actually it was a moonroof) I wouldn't hold my breath hoping for it.

a sunroof on a fastback isn't going to happen just by looking at the roof...glass roof is the closest thing to getting a sunroof...

i just can't believe this is what is stopping you but oooook... lol

there is no such thing as a "gently used" muscle car...so goodluck! :D

I see you're in Houston. There is several S550s running around here in town with after market sunroofs installed.

some dude who specializes in donks, is doing them. I'll see if i can get some info on who's installing them. IMO, its just be terrible because of leaks, but whatever floats your boat.

I once had a used ML430 with a Lamella Roof.. and it was AWESOME!

Until it broke, then it was CRAP!

I like sunroofs.. not a deal breaker for me tho. Before I got this stang I was considering getting a Dart GT, a Camry SE or a Civic SI... all with sunroofs Lol.

Yes during the day when it's 90 degrees with blazing sun it's not all that great.. but at night cruising around with all the windows down and the sunroof open it's awesome.

We are rolling to coffee and cars this weekend in the GT350 - maybe I'll take a close look at some of the Mustangs that have aftermarket ones installed if they are there. :)

^^ that is the one I am considering.

It would also be more expensive car note - moving from low 400s to middle-high 500s. Even if the refresh doesn't get a sunroof/moonroof - I would have saved enough money to buy a new one spec'd the way I want it instead of a used one. We'll see I keep going back and forth.....

You may want to find one that a dealer still has that has never been titled for similar money and cheap financing (if you finance) since the 2017 are out.

Just another opinion.
Yeah 35k is way too high for a used 2016 now. I figured it was traded in for around 27-29k and would purchase around 30k.

I'll spend days at a dealership. Time is worth not financing an extra 5k.

I would not want to deal with an aftermarket moonroof on a car like this. Aside from the glass not matching the roof contour right, over time they will most likely become crap.

I have an OEM Webasto Hollandia in my 04 Marauder which still works excellent. However, I have a ASC 840 VSS in my 03 Marauder, I've had to reposition the moonroof glass as the screws holding the glass in came out and the glass sat under the roof panel. The headliner is also sagging because of this whole ordeal. The unit itself is very clacky and loud compared to the Webasto.

If anyone reading this is really considering an aftermarket moonroof, I would only look at the Webasto lineup as I've always read great things. ASC went bust for a reason, they sold shit.
