The IAT being off doesn't really matter anyway especially with a tune. The cars pretty much run off the knock sensor and give the car as much timing as it will take without detonating. Comparing it with the outside temp gauge isn't the best idea either, those are off as well.

I just ordered the Velossa Tech big mouth hoping it helps keep the IAT's closer to ambient and recover faster. I've already opened up the airbox and the MAF is angled down inside the box to help out as much as possible. Crossing fingers the big mouth helps.

i'm calling out everyone in this thread who says their IATs are a few above what the dash says, cause i call bs. i made a point to try it out, i let the car heat soak. went to get e85, when i left the station, IATs were at 148, get on the highway, little traffic, but moving at about 55 for 5 min they dropped to about 122, then i got off at my exit. my stock box would heat up and stay hot, this intake def cools quicker, but not 2 min on the highway, unless you are driving 90mph maybe. my maf is on the top of the intake, so i dunno what to say, i just dont see the diff you guys are talking about, and on a long highway drive, yes 5-7 over everytime. i dont see a power drop at all with the higher IATs, but thats the e85

terminator2 already found that that S550 IAT sensor reads 4-5* higher than ambient from the get go on a stone cold car, so keep that in mind. Also, one thing I noticed is that when the car is hot and you let the IAT get up, if you accel aggressively in the first couple gears, the IAT goes down much faster.

Thank you. I never see these magical "just a few higher than ambient" IATs people speak of. And I don't see them in other people's Mustangs either.

Got mine from UPR and installed it yesterday. While I must say I love the looks and design behind it (why I got it in the first place) the kit just has terrible quality hardware. One of the de-gaser relocation bracket bolts snapped off while I was tightening it. Not even torquing it that hard actually.



The clamps supplied are small as hell. For the tube to throttle body coupler clamp I had to undo it completely, wrap it around the coupler and then tighten the hell out of it so it would 'grab' correctly. The other 3 clamps were difficult but with some muscle they eventually fit right. Just a hair of 'thread' sticks out after tightening them pretty hard. At one point I even wondered if they gave me the correct clamps. :lol:

As if that wasn't enough, I noticed this happened when I was putting everything back together, no idea how. PMAS definitely needs to use some better glue as I saw someone's velocity stack became unglued from the MAF housing earlier in this thread. :doh:



Tried to give my business to someone 'different' in the intake game and it was just a disappointment. If I had to do it again I would have just gone with Steeda. A trip to the dyno is in the cards this week so hopefully that'll make me forget. Buyer beware! :shrug:

I was one of the first buyers of the PMAS intake last year... The fit and finish was terrible. The plastic was junk. The threads on the fittings for the vaccum lines either were lose or when I tried to tighten them stripped. The intake barely fit. And when I say barely you had to drop the hood to get it to close, you couldn't press it down. I like the idea and the design but the execution was garbage. The MAF on the other hand was beautiful, and is what they are known for and built there business around. The adapter module or whatever you call it wasn't sealed, and look like something you bought off of eBay for 12.99... I wouldn't trust the intake as a package to drive more then 5 miles away from home scared that it would take a poop on me. Maybe they fixed some of these problems, but they were nice enough to to take the intake back and refund me. I spent the money on a Lund flex tune and am still running the stock intake.

I'm sorry you are having problems with the kit. The clamps are only available in size ranges. The next size up left a lot of extra clamp when installed and it didn't look very good. some customers brought this to our attention so we went with a clamp with a better appearance when installed.

I'm not sure what to say about the bolts. That are actually good quality stainless steel and are not inexpensive.

I'm sorry about the fitting. It is designed to be removable as it sits in a rubber grommet. We have started using a very strong epoxy on that fitting and the maf to assure they are both secured well and to avoid any confusion on the fitting.

Thanks for both the constructive criticism and the praise on the maf. I'm not sure if you know but we took all the comments from the first kit and redesigned the intake tube and the fittings. We also completely eliminated the electronic conversion box and now use a calibrated OEM maf sensor element.

Thanks for both the constructive criticism and the praise on the maf. I'm not sure if you know but we took all the comments from the first kit and redesigned the intake tube and the fittings. We also completely eliminated the electronic conversion box and now use a calibrated OEM maf sensor element.
You are welcome sir... And I did not see in any posts that the problems with the first generation were fixed... You have me sold. Is the intake tube still the same size? Because it was a tight fit. Glad you guys got those issues sorted out, will be purchasing... Again :)

A. Then you should have just told those customers who could not stand the sight of some extra clamp hanging off to cut the excess with some wire cutters or tin snips... Instead of making everyone else struggle with clamps that are simply too small.

B. I doubt that... A set of quality, OEM-like hex head bolts with washers and locking nut is like two dollars at the hardware store... I would have paid 20 dollars extra for some decent clamps/bolts/glue and not have to suffer any of this. Take note, I'm pretty sure everyone else feels the same way.

C. Wait, so you're actually telling me that fitting is supposed to come off? But it's getting bonded with some "stronger epoxy" now? Which is it, should it come off or no? I'd love some of that new epoxy and a new high quality bolt/nut to fix my brand new intake... :shrug:

Are you saying the maf is epoxied into place?
