We changed to the newer style maf because of repeatibility and to eliminate the electronic conversion box that was prone to have issues. We now calibrate OEM maf sensors to work with our housing.
I'm not sure what's going on the the hole for the bolt. The factory grommet should fit correctly...
Sorry guys, I've just been made aware of this thread.
I think we need to change our wording in the instructions. We meant to remove the plastic fitting with the clip, not to remove the clip from the fitting. I will get this corrected today.
I don't have any email from the O.P.? our shop number...
You should have no problem just telling them to make the tune for a stock airbox. It will run fine.
Technically they could play with cam timing knowing the intake was less restrictive with the PMAS but I'm not sure if most go that far unless you are spending the whole day on a dyno.
We calibrated a maf to make the JLT work with a stock tune the same way we make one work for ours. The JLT picked up 5WHP over stock on a stock car and ours picked up 16 over the JLT on the same stock car.
I calibrated a maf to test it against the JLT without a tune. Gains should be similar if not a little more with a tune because it will be making more power and therefore be more restrictive. I'm not sure if anybody has done the test with a tune though.
This was on a 13 but the intake kits are...
You will always pick up more power with a good tune on top of our intake. The tune just needs to be for the stock airbox. A tune for the ford racing intake would not work.
We could always make a maf to work with the ford tune for their intake but I don't think they sell the tune without the intake?
Always gotta keep in mind.. for every 1 person with an issue there are 50 without. You just don't hear from the people without problems. Goes for lots of things.. You know the old saying.. no news is good news. lol. I'm also pretty sure that every single person that has had an issue has been...
I've done this my whole life and I still have issues with something simple sometimes and have to walk away for a minute.. Come back and try again and it's easy.
Give me a min guys.. I'm uploading a video on how to easily get the coupling on. you need to stretch it from the inside. It's a tight fit but it fits. Couplings aren't available in any exact size. We opted for the tight fit over the lose fit.
