It could be for whatever halo Mustang is replacing the GT350, assuming that 2017 is the last GT350 production year (big assumption maybe).I read somewhere in a post here from a union newsletter that Ford is in the middle of installing a full scale plasma spray bore line, so this is coming to something.
http://articles.sae.org/7624/School me please. What advantage does a plasma coated spray bore line have? More resistant to heat or some such?
Less weight, so better weight vehicle distribution. Improved wear properties, etc...
I agree about the chances of getting a glass roof, but I'm hopeful about PTWA based on the union article excerpt posted earlier in this thread.I don't think a glass roof or the plasma coated cylinder bores will be included for 2018. I tend to agree with the rest. What about a heads up display?
Assuming that the "new spray bore technology coming to the Block Line" reference is actually about PTWA, why would Ford be installing the equipment for this process in the Essex plant unless they intended to mass produce PTWA treated engine blocks? #fingerscrossed
Don't care about a heads up display. Don't want one badly enough to pay for the feature, at any rate. Just me.
