Holy. crap.
I can't imagine spending that much time to do this. that's an entire weekend of work - and then, NOT being able to drive the car for 1-3 days??? Am I supposed to take vacation time from work? Hell, I'm the guy who uses the windshield squeegee at the gas station to clean the bug splatters off my bumper and front of my hood after my commute to/from work (on my previous Mustangs), LOL ... although, with the DIB, I may have to stop doing that. I've never heard of a two bucket wash method or a foam cannon - I'll google them, but doubt I'll go that route.... this definitely sounds like an overwhelming and unmanageable process from a time standpoint, so maybe I'll just stick with the touchless drive through car wash and spray detailer in between washes... or some mixture of ideas...
Thanks a million for the details though - it is very helpful and gives me something to think about!
It's interesting because as with anything g else, you get what you put into it. Sure you can skip steps, use different products, do what you like but my information is based on working with 15 different manufacturers and nearly every available paint type on the market. There's always more to it, technique etc... But the real interesting part is assuming it takes longer. This is a process done every 2 years or more in most cases, I guarantee you'll spend twice as long doing a sealant every three months or natural wax every month, so do you want to invest it all at once or more over time?
Like I said, if you have questions or need help just ask. Id like more people to realize they can do just as good of a job as most detailers, if not better.
As far as having your car off the road... I mean you could take vacation I suppose but I recommend just driving one if your other cars while this one is being worked on. Probably easiest that way.
