Hi Russ. Did you want to have a live listen to mine before you jump in. Where on rhe Sunny Coast are you based? I am in Buderim so could meet around Maroochydore area.

Caloundra Exhaust did the work and were highly recommended by a client that has them build systems for hot rods and resto mods

Dizzy - I would greatly appreciate a listen. I'm down Caloundra way. In fact Caloundra Exhausts replaced the system from the extractors back on my 65 a few years ago and did a good job.

PM me or just name a suitable day and time to catch up. Thanks again.

Greg, you'll need to write a review of the springs.

How's the ride, etc, etc.

And post some pics too please.

Well guys , I paid $100 an hour for a grand total of $300 !! As for ride quality and feel it's completely better than stock . A more firm and shore feel for the road , much less squat when you get on it and it feel a lot tighter as well . Didntget a wheel alinement as yet as I want to let the springs settle in. Body clearance is not to bad at the moment but that will change obviously , top of the front guard wheel arch went from 718 mm to 680mm, the rear from 728 to 690 mm so you can see it's quite a drop.
As for looks its exactly what I was after !!! Well that's it for me appearance wise , now for the exhaust !!

Now I can't figure out if that's a real Mustang or if it's just a toy mustang

@Kaps any drone at all?

I'm so close to doing a H or X pipe but ideally i'd like to hear someone else first.
@GRUSH
I took it out for a small meet up yesterday and here are the results:

1. Cold Start : LOUD, but settles down in less than a minute to deep rumble soon

2. Normal driving or step up- No drone at all

3. Inside Car - the rumble has increased a little bit, feels even better.

4. Outside the car - especially behind it- Hell yeah. Sounds awesome at local slow driving but sounds even better when you hit the pedal a bit.

However I don't have to step on pedal too much now, for it to sound awesome. I achieved the same result I used to get at high RPMs now at around 2500 K to 4000 K Max with a lot more sweet notes added, which were missing with the Suitcase on.

Videos do not do justice to this system. No one so far has told me its loud in annoying way. Everyone who hears it has a big smile on their face for a while, even when they feel like they just have been punched in the face with the sound of this exhaust.

I find it the perfect combination at such a low price and very high quality.
This is what I always wanted, good deep rumble at low RPM and great sound, without revving up the car to that very high RPM range.

The result is much better than expected. You need to hear it in person to understand it because quite a large range of low frequency is lost in videos and especially the sound effect it creates in the surroundings.

However this exhaust combination is not for the drivers who don't want to attract any kind of attention, unless you want to keep the stock exhaust and delete the resonator only.

On the side note: I drove past a cop car after the meet up without attracting any attention :).

I am very happy with the choice and the H pipe is staying there with the ROUSH AB. This combination brought out a totally new soundtrack and I am loving it.

Installed my JLT Engine and Coil Covers. Much nicer under the hood now........ yes except for the Coolant tank

Mine from JLT arrived today in Race Red with Black accents like yours. Aren't they a thing of beauty? I am so glad I ordered them.

Re the coolant tank, the following also arrived today from RPI Designs and it is similarly great looking. I think it will do the job nicely.

P.S. How easy was the removal of the covers on engine and coils? I imagine they just snap on and off without too much trouble.

They are brilliant. Mine is pretty much flawless re: the paint. The removal and install process is 5 mins. I have a UPR catch can on the drive side so no problem removing that and the oil cap I just loosened a little so the coil cover slides on easier ( you'll understand when doing it for yourself ) The breather hose on the passenger side has fumbly clips so I unclipped both ends of the hose. You may need to turn the hose to get proper access to the clips.

That cover for the coolant tank looks good, thanks for the link

The cover is great quality. Floorless paint job, and to my eye the colour match is excellent when comparing to those on the job done on the engine and coil covers.

The cover has some double sided tape strips on the underside to enable it to be affixed over the stock reservoir.

One question that has come to my mind - the stock tank is transparent and enables one to see the fluid level. With the cover on you won't be able to see that. I was thinking perhaps a permanent marker mark on the Max line on outside of the tank (the side that faces the driver) might enable you to see fluid level relative to the MAX mark when shining a torch into the tank.

What are your, and others thoughts?

It's great to make the cosmetic improvements, but one needs to be mindful of why it was transparent to enable fluid level to be visible.

How far down does the cover go? You can see on my pic, the MAX line is pretty much just above the lip in the middle, so if thats where the cover ends, I would say you'll be fine

Nah, you're right.

I'm a victim of not having the actual tank in my sights, but now that you point this out it will be fine. It's a direct fit to the mid point.

Thank you
