Lebanon probably has a bunch of them sitting around as they more than likely purchase them in bulk. The kits are listed as backorder because they are working on the phase 2 tune.

Yea I don't want it to seem like I'm bashing Lebanon but I would like someone to tell me the truth... Straight from Roush I was told that It would not work... I kinda wonder if the hype and publicity of this program overwhelmed them with orders and they had the superchargers in bulk as stated... And everyone assumed that it would be all worked out by the time the 17's came out?
That would be my guess. Obviously they keep some # of kits (Phase I & II) in inventory or they'd have to wait all the time to get them from Roush. So they went ahead and built-out what they had hoping that by the time guys are really starting to romp on them & the issues started to appear the revised tune would be ready & they would just reflash the early ones.
Is the car still at the dealership, or just the S/C ?
If not, let me know and we will get you taken care of. There is a process to getting new cals out with new software builds and it is time consuming and not always in your control. F
Still at dealership.$51000 invested there so far.On their face book page it shows a mechanic putting a 727 kit on a car.That was July 5.Ive got to stick it out.6 yrs in the Navy and 4 Army.Im use to waiting.
Thanks for chiming in. I think we can solve this issue and not only give you kits NOW with more power, we can guarantee we won't have to stop supplying our Stage 2 systems due to poor calibration issues. The best yet, you can also have a 50-state legal system instead of offering RACE only supercharger systems (it's a violation with EPA on non green states to tamper with vehicle in anyway, no such thing as 49-state legal).
I spoke with Ford directly regarding this. You can reference my case number 992934. I was told by Jennifer, the regional customer service manager, that she consulted with the lead technical department at Ford regarding this issue. The reason for the delay is that the Roush 2.3 TVS supercharger was awaiting EPA and CARB certification for use on road going 2017 models. This certification is not expected to go through until 6 months.
How did Whipple get this so much faster than Roush ? Is there anything new with the 2017 engine that requires re-certification?
This is the thing that is so frustrating. It is the same physical kit, and the same engine/transmission. I never got a square answer, only the 6 month timeline for 2017 models. You would think a company as large as Ford would have this stuff figured out ahead of time.:doh:
