2017 Roush Supercharger Tune Not Available

I don't know much about lemon law aside from a few youtube videos, but it will be interesting if they do a buy-back, where the Ford power train warranty got changed to Roush power train warranty. Doesn't seem like Roush would want to take on that much liability. And apparently Ford doesn't either since the warranty changes owners.

In FL anything 'dealer or authorized agent installed' is elligible, they have to include it in the buy-back.

At the risk of getting off topic, I googled FL lemon law, and came up with this. Aside from whether a Roush warranty is covered, there is also the question on whether a vibration issue "substantially impairs"

Does the Lemon Law cover every vehicle defect?
No. The Lemon Law does not cover a defect or condition resulting from an accident, abuse, neglect, modification or alteration of the vehicle by persons other than a manufacturer or authorized service agent. Also, in order to qualify under the Lemon Law a defect or condition must be covered under the warranty, it must have been first reported to the manufacturer or an authorized service agent during the “Lemon Law rights period” (The first 24 months after the date of original delivery of a motor vehicle to a consumer), and it must substantially impair the use, value or safety of the vehicle. Picked up the car today without the supercharger. Dealer is returning the Roush kit and we are more than likely going to go with Whipple. I'll know for sure tomorrow. Hoping I can get the car supercharged within the next week or two.

If you don't think it substantially impairs the use & value I'd be VERY happy to sell you mine right now ! Plus, Ford has spent all this time (56 service days) & $$ trying to fixing it, so clearly it's warrantied.

In the mean time - make damn sure there is no vibration between 45 - 70 mph and if there is, make sure it's fixed before you do anything to the car !

I am not saying that it does or doesn't. I have no idea. But to lemon law, you might have to persuade someone that it does. And they may argue that it doesn't.

But for the right price, I'd trade cars and take my chances. 670 hp

Another thing that confuses me is that the supercharger is part of the new vehicle purchase and wrapped into the financing, similar to how Lebanon is doing it with their roush charged mustangs. The confusing part is verbiage found at https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6066-M8627

It says "NOTE: Powertrain calibrations are developed and supported for U.S. and Canadian vehicles only.
Federal and state laws prohibit any person from installing aftermarket add-on or modified parts prior to the sale of a new motor vehicle"

Does this mean the dealers such as Town and Country, Lebanon, etc are breaking the law?

Hmmmmm. Reading all this is making me re consider. I picked up a Roush sponsorship recently and getting a great deal on either a phase 1 or 2 supercharger. I know the 2's are not being sold right now but that was really what I was after. The deal is hard to pass up, plus I really didn't want the whine of the supercharger like some. Just me I guess. I could also add bigger injectors and a TB and have remote tuned and get upper 600's in HP. I work for Ford in management and like 30 minutes from the Roush facility. Have to see what they do to the phase 2 I guess first.

The response I received from Lebanon Ford today was basically this... They are not aware or never have been aware of any problem with Roush chargers on 17's or even any of the 16's... They are installing them on the 17 cars people have ordered but are just waiting for the new tune to come out before they will release them... According to them the tune will be available to dealers next week... so... who knows lol

I'd be weary of what any dealer says about 2017 models. If any of you guys want to call Ford Customer Service, you can reference my case number 9929234. Ford told me EPA and CARB certification wasn't anticipated to become available until December. I'd say they are pretty on point because my dealer had to eat the cost of taking the supercharger off. If it was going to be a week turnaround, I'm sure they would have waited before eating the labor of taking it off, just to put it back on again.

Whipple offers a powertrain warranty for 3 years 36k miles that covers $5,000. Stage 1 whipple makes 750 engine horsepower as opposed to Roush 727. You could even upgrade to 850 engine horsepower with just a throttle body and injectors. Plus it has flight control which allows you to dial down the boost per gear and has far superior safety features when compared to Roush. These were the reasons why I'm having the roush kit returned and going with Whipple.

I'm hoping to get everything squared away with the supercharger within the next week or so. I'll keep you guys updated and will post pictures.

I hope Ford is wrong about the timeline for 2017 certification and that the new Roush phase 2 tune solves any previous problems for the rest of you guys who have to stay with Roush.

If I was Lebanon I'd probably defend Roush as well since they based their marketing plan around them and more than likely have a ton a Roush superchargers in inventory. Buy in bulk and I imagine there is sizeable discounts to have, thus more profit. Hell I was so convinced by their marketing, I had my local Ford dealership setup my car the same way as Lebanon.

Well got off the phone with Roush about an hour ago and was politely and respectfully told "good luck"... According to them the chargers are not tested or certified for 2017's... And this was about all they could tell me... Also when I asked about the tune being out next week the gentleman I spoke with just kindve chuckled and said he doubted this will happen... I called Lebanon back and was told again that they have the Chargers on 2017's now... When I inquired if the were running or not told them the info Roush had given me I was told they'd have someone else call back that knew more... Starting to get uneasy about the whole deal honestly

I called Lebanon earlier in the week and was told to leave a voice mail message for Josh, as he is the specialist on the 727 Roush builds. I imagine he must be pretty busy as I never got a call back.

They show 6 17's in inventory on the website. 5 are on order & only 1 is on the ground & it's not been modified.
Sounds to me like they are blowing smoke up your skirt !
