First, I love this car. I drive the shit out of it and it thrills me every time. Whether eating up the curves or wide open to the top of 5th gear, it's awesome. I'm happy with the car. However, there are a few things that are disappointing and hope ford improves on. Of course, if anyone has any input, that would be welcomed as well.

1. Alcantara steering wheel is really uncomfortable. When I'm really into it and my hands are sweating, it's nice, but normally it provides sort of a numbing feeling to my hands and its slippery. Also thicker on top would be nice.

2. Body panels fit and finish. It looks like an 8 year old cut the mold flash off some of the panels, especially the rear bumper cover.

3. Over the top racing stripes. I hope you're racing in a completely bug free area, because bugs, flies and bees and such, have damaged the stripes in front of hood vent. It looks like a permanent bug splatter where the material is damaged.

4. Driver's side windshield wiper hits the hood. Really?

5. No way to keep the exhaust quiet. It sounds awesome, but it is too loud to be always on as soon as you give it a little gas.

6. Shifter feels rubbery compared to the gt.

7 Clutch pedal was overly sprung. I could pull my foot off the clutch faster than it could engage. Makes for some awkward shifts. Removed it and it is pretty decent.

8. Wish it had cobra or mustang entry illumination projected from the mirrors. And with that.. I'm done.

9. One more. Ran a GT auto with tune and exhaust in the 120-170 range. Didn't really pull on him much. that was at about 1000 miles. now at 2500 it feels quicker.. we will see.

And sixth gear?? Howabout something closer to 5th. It's for economy you say? Does anyone drive this car for its fuel economy? Nope. make it usable.

Thanks for listening guys.

No way to keep the exhaust quiet? It's quiet by default.

1. It's fine, don't change it...

2. All cars that are essentially mass produced and under $60k have panel issues...

3. CQuartz or Xpel over your stripes...

4. It's a small detail... But, I see the glass half full here...

5. Damn crying shame... Nuff said.

6. Says who? Feels better than the shifter I had in my 13 B302.

7. Agreed.

8. Smh... I don't wanna puss up a racecar...

9. The last thing in this world I care about is street pulling a Mustang GT...

10. Sixth gear is fine as it is. I only go there when cruising. You'd never use it on a track tho.

Just my two-sense. ;)

I'm sorry to say this but the 35k mercedes cla or bmw 1 series or even honda accord has far better panel quality than this car. I am just stating the facts and I did check those cars very up close.

It has nothing to do with this car being 60k or 90k or 30k. Its about the same kind of union workers building chevys and gmcs and fords also building this car. Same issues in a 105k z06 corvette. Nothing can be done. Its about the mentality and work ethic.

Personally, I am not going to make an issue out of this. I think car has way more other positives. This car is amazing as is. But dont blame the build quality on the price of the car. Its not like ford has higher quality workers on a 60k production line than a 30k production line.

1. Its great.

2. Its quite variable between cars. Mine is better than most. Only real issue is the rear bumper, and I think thats the bumpercover and rear 1/4 panels having a mis-match in the curve pulling the cover out of position.

3. Don't pay for stripes then. Or get aftermarket ones. Or protect them. Lots o options.

4. Its intentional. Better areodynamics. My old 1992 SVX was even worse with the wipers in summer mode. Low drag is about details. Lower drag means faster at the track.

5. Yes, it needs a 3am mode. But outside of the start up you can prevent it by not going over 50% throttle or trying to accelerate for longer periods. Quick sprints in each gear at 35-40% throttle will get the car moving rapidly without the exhaust barking at other cars as it opens and closes the valves. Slow acceleration is perhaps the worst in this car as you get horrid MPG AND the valves will open at random times as the ECU gets mad about things.

6. Rubbery? Yah, the centering spring is a bit "rubbery", but the gates are solid, and if anything my syncros are too mechanical. 3rd often feels like I'm pounding a 3lbs sledge into a gap in an anvil.

7. Yes, the clutch is bizzare feeling. Its intentional though to protect the driveline from idiots side stepping the clutch off the line. Most cars use a restriction in the clutch line, so be happy that this can be changed with a couple minutes of work without tools. Another one I've seen is one Axle having a groove cut into it so that it would snap safely instead of the clutch/flywheel exploding. Or doing a driveshaft pole vault. Or snapping in an unsupported way so that the axle flys around destroying the suspension.

8.It would be neat, but I'd not pay money for it. I'd rather have the yellowjacket trim myself. But everything else cosmetic about the GT350 is massively harder to upgrade a GT to, than it is to swap mirrors on a GT350.

9. Your car will love higher temps, and tons of octane. bad 91 and good 93 are a world apart in power. Strangely while most cars I've owned love cold temps, this car loves its 80 degree+ days. Put a couple hours of heat soak on the motor and its even happier. Its just weird.

Also know your gears. Its way too easy to pick one that doesn't have you in the meat of the powerband. I'd also hope thats KPH as a Auto GT has a electronic speed limiter. 164mph is listed for the stick.

10. 6th needs to be slightly shorter. My guess is they did almost all the testing with the GT350R or cars with that size tire, as 65mph in 6th is right on my low RPM resonance issue. So 63 or 67 is as close as I can get without issues. That said 6th isn't used at all in a performance context so it largely doesn't matter. Top speed is in 5th as 6th would have to be virtually identical in gearing to 5th to see any more MPH. Not sure you'd want a 6th gear that drops to 7,250rpm from 8,000 in 5th. Gas Guzzler tax would be through the roof if Ford could even sell it.

No, Just no. The Merc CLA is beat hands down by a used C class. Its made of pure bad.

Its bad enough I'd rather drop the same money on whatevers on a Hyundai lot and enjoy the superior quality, reliablity, and comfort.

That said for $50K you can get a loaded 2017 MKZ with the Focus RS AWD and 400hp. If you want something FWD luxobarge with some stick. I'd pick something RWD based myself, but 400hp is 400hp.

I agree with the steering wheel complaint. I'm probably going to see if I can get an upholstery shop to wrap it with all leather. It's one of the few thing I miss from my M4. It had a nice beefy leather wrapped steering wheel.

You really want cheesy lights projecting a snake or a horse on the ground?

I disagree about the shifter. It's not perfect, but much better than the many regular GT Mustangs I've driven.

I love the clutch pedal lightness, especially when in rush hour to and from work. I've found it very easy to get used to even when driving spiritedly. I haven't had a manual for years and found it very easy to pick it back up again partly because of this.

It doesn't surprise me about the GT roll race. Even stock for stock they are not that far apart numbers wise.

My 81k MSRP M4 built in Munich had fitment issues. I've also seen many other complaints regarding BMW and the other German brands. Guess I should of bought an M5 with an MSRP north of a 100k. ;)

It's unfortunate and shouldn't happen, but it does across the board. I've found my GT 350 isn't that bad. A couple things here and there, but nothing horrible.

Maybe true, but the 350 is noticeably worse than my GT, which I actually thought was pretty nice.

Maybe oversprung is a better description.

The illuminated horse was something my daughter loved about the GT.. 3 year olds, am I right? what do they know about race cars?

Why would you think 5th would hit the top speed? There's power to go a good bit faster. It would be nice if it would drop to 6K or so rather than 4700 or whatever it is. I was talking MPH. Like I said the car was tuned, suspension upgraded, 295-20 MPSS on it so no problem. He hit 278kph (gps verified).. I hit 273 when I shifted to sixth and felt sad. This is only for bragging rights as there is no need to go that fast... but I did...:headbang:

5th tops out at 180 mph in the GT350. The GT350R is 173mph.

526hp with the GT350's frontal area and drag is going to have trouble pulling above 180 with any gearing. Smaller front tires, lower downforce, and perfect gearing *might* get you a few more MPH. Might. even the 180mph is so far theoretical, with only the R's 173mph supposedly verified.

lol, really? I just have no words for that. The Tremec and the shifter are just worlds more firm and better than the GT.

7 Clutch pedal was overly sprung. I could pull my foot off the clutch faster than it could engage. Makes for some awkward shifts. Removed it and it is pretty decent.
The GT has the exact same issue. Ford likes to make it's clutches feel less "heavy" with the spring, but I agree it hinders the shifting experience more than it helps for most people.

And sixth gear?? Howabout something closer to 5th. It's for economy you say? Does anyone drive this car for its fuel economy? Nope. make it usable.
You say potato, I say potato. Happy to have a gear that drops revs way down. If you don't like it, stay in 5th the whole time?
