Looks like a good option thanks ZuluI bought the Colgan. I never liked these things but I was going to take my new Mustang on a 2,000 mile trip and I worried about all the stuff thrown at me.
I got the Colgan form CJPonyparts.com, without the hole fro the front plate (not needed where I live), but they sell both. A bit pricey at $180 US, but the fit is superb and I have to confess it actually looked good on the car.
The back is a soft material, there are no metals hooks anywhere. Just make sure the car is CLEAN (run a microfiber over it to check), then apply. Make sure it is warm enough, this thing is tight. It is a good idea to let it warm up in your garage.
It does not move, vibrate, nothing. There are cheaper ones, but this is the one to get.
When you get to your destination, take a damp towel and clean off the dead bugs (easier to do it while on the car).
I highly recommend it.
do a search on Colgan in the forums, I have a picture of it on my red Ecoboost.

I agreeJust put clear wrap over the front - works well.
I'm planning a cross oz trip do you think clear wrap would stop the bigger stones?Just put clear wrap over the front - works well.

Coyote,I know it's not the most attractive bit of kit but could be well worth while on longer trips. Has anyone purchased one? If so how much and where from?
I contacted Car Bra Australia (Telephone: 1800 422 727 or 03 9357 2300) and they informed me that they are available for the S550 Mustang. For the life of me I can not remember how much they were, but they were not cheap. A quality and protective product nonetheless.
I had one of their bra's for my FPV GT. The fit was perfect, and the soft protection underneath prevented any damage to the paint surface.
There are the haters of them...but, who gives a shyte what they think.
Damage can occur even on the short trips down the street, however the potential is greater with trips on roads with a higher speed limit.
Those that drive on freeways / highways or roads that have a lot of trucks carrying dirt/rocks etc using them......should consider the protection they bring.
Some may think they look ugly..... remove it to show the car off...no more ugly.....
Stone chips can not be removed as simply and quickly as that:lol:
:lol:Looks like it is about to rob a bank
