Haha Trip computer in the nav software!

Like I said, the nav software is absolutely excellent with this unit. Certainly a standout feature compared to the moddiciton and TomTop unit.

I believe the Moddiction unit has a trip computer in the nav software. I feel like I saw it but just didn't try it. I may check it out when I get home this evening.

Has any unit, moddiction or anything, mentioned support for Android auto or Apple car play? Bells and whistles of these systems are somewhat cool, but the ability to keep an updated interface with auto/carplay is superior.

I don't think that will happen because more or less these units are just a pretty mirror of what we already have plus the navigation.

Exactly what I was thinking. Not sure what it looks like on the Moddiction unit but that layout is NICE. I'd probably keep it on that screen when Nav isn't needed.

It appears the clock going back and hour is a common issue with this and the Moddication (or whatever its called) unit and this one.

Question, does it support Apple Airplay like the moddicaiton unit does?

Looks AWESOME!

Different good, bad or indifferent? Lol
Very "not good". :( I shoulda snapped a pic. Basically you hit record trip and it shows you information about the trip but no where near as sleek of a layout. Just a screen with a bunch of words and numbers. Maybe we'll get an update to Nav, though.

*edit: Sorry to post about the other unit in here guys. Just wanted to compare features. Don't mean to hijack.

So all of these units are built on the Windows CE 6.0 Platform, from what I can tell. In their current state, CarPlay and Android Auto will not run on this OS (also from the best I can tell).

Win CE 6.0 is an older operating system that Microsoft quit mainstream support for in 2013 and has all support planned to end in 2018. I'm not saying it isn't possible to adapt Android Auto or Apple Carplay to this OS, but I doubt anyone will actively work on it since the underlying platform is old, and will not see updates soon.

My suspicion is Win CE is used for these systems because it is cheap, or free, and there are a lot of existing applications that can be installed, or easily modified, to work with it. Doing new development has little, to no, ROI, so it is highly unlikely.
