Okay, so you're discussing car play only there, what about Android? Any issues with wireless support? Am I to understand that the only difference would be not having wifi updates, the rest will work as if it was factory sync 3?

A concern is that while app developers continue to update and drop support, so will your head unit. I believe a unit that does nothing but Android auto or Apple car play is a better approach.

That's a big fear of mine. I'll have a head unit way longer than a version of Android will be supported.
