I'm currently working with a company to create an alternative to the Roush active exhaust kit. This would consist of electric cutouts to be controlled by switch or wireless remote (which can also be controlled by garage remote/home link). What I need from forum members is interest. If there is enough, this can be produced for less than 1/2 of what the Roush kit sells for. Please respond here if interested. Thanks!

Update: got the go-ahead from Quick Time Performance to post the drawings. What you are seeing is the adapter (to fit the cutout to the Roush two bolt flange), the electric cutout valve and the flanged tube to mount the exhaust tip to. Take a look, guys!

I'd be interested in seeing it. But I probably wouldn't buy it. I think it is a cool idea and if it can be done with a reasonable price then I say go for it.

I'm waiting on permission to show the preliminary drawings. Once I get the go ahead, I will post them up. It really is a sweet setup and a much lower cost option to the Roush kit.

I'm interested, I would have bought the roush active exhaust but I didn't want to spend that much $

i'd be all over it if it worked with corsa...then I wouldn't feel bad about buying headers with the xtreme.

If you're interested, please vote. Showing enough interest is crucial to convince the manufacturer to produce this.

Will it have variable/selectable opening settings or just be fully open or closed?

I plan to use a momentary switch (if not included) to set the valve position where I want it. I'll see if I can find out what's incuded.

QTP website says you can run closed, wide open or any position in between.

So it's just cutouts? The benefit of having a dual mode muffler is keeping clean tone while still having volume. Then a quieter muffler when you want. Cutouts just sound like cheap open headers.

The Roush active exhaust uses cutouts. The problem is you can't buy them outside of their kit, which is $1600+. The mufflers have two outlets. The outer is always open. The inner is flanged so you can add the cutout. What I am showing is a possible alternative kit to the Roush kit. Price would be dramatically less and accomplish the same thing as far as user control of the exhaust note, output, etc.

Updated original post with drawings.
Thanks. I guess I thought this was something a little different. Another active alternative axle back to the Roush would be very nice. This appears to be supplemental to the Roush passive, no?
