So, I went to a local locksmith and they were able to program the keys with zero issues. Not sure what the issue was with the dealer (different programmer/tool maybe?), but I've got new keys and all is well with the universe.
Do they stock OEM key fobs? Or is it some kind of other fob? I assume I'd probably lose the pony on the back of the key, but I suppose I'm not too concerned about that if it resolves my key problem.
Thanks for the replies all. I've got a custom dyno tune at a local shop. On my last car, this included an SCT handheld tuner that allowed me to change tunes or return to stock. I didn't get that with this tune, otherwise I for sure would have tried returning to stock by now. I'm currently...
So I took my car in to the dealership to buy a new key fob and get it programmed, and after awhile they came back and asked if my car had an aftermarket tune. I said yes and they told me that it’s preventing them from programming the key and that I need to return it to stock for them to be able...
Is anyone here running ARH or Kooks longtube headers with an H-pipe? If so, how did you go about doing it?
I was all set on the ARH headers system that included an H-pipe, but they apparently do not offer that anymore, only an X-pipe.
I've currently got a 3" Magnaflow catback with the 2.5"...
I'll be throwing on some headers on my GT soon and looking for a dyno shop for a tune. So far in this thread I've seen the following mentioned:
APS Autoworks - I can't find much of an internet presence here, at least nothing recent.
Modern Automotive Performance - They seem more...
Does anyone here have any pictures of a GT with painted 5.0 badges, aside from the black badge/black wheel combo?
I've seen plenty of pics of the black out package, and it looks great. I'm just not sure how it would look with a more typical wheel color.
I've got Lightning Blue and I'm...
So the dealership has had the car for a PP2 install for awhile and apparently it threw a couple of codes related to ignition and they can't figure out why. It appears to drive just fine, they just can't figure out these codes it is throwing. Anyone else run in to any issues like this?
I'm getting my PP2 installed at a Ford Dealer tomorrow. I noticed it didn't come with any installation instructions, are they going to know what to do? I
I'll report back in my first impressions tomorrow.
EDIT : Ah, I see Ford Performance has instructions available online. I'll print them...
Glad to hear it's normal. I'm actually installing a PP2 soon, so hopefully that gives me the fun of sport mode in normal mode without all the other baggage.
While I love the throttle response and shifting of Sport mode when taking off from a light, I have found it to be unusable in stop and go traffic, or even slowing down at a stop light. The car revs and lurches with excessive engine braking and generally makes it look like I don't know how to...
I thought about going wider, but I still think I'm leaning towards just sticking with the 255s. It looks like the 275s are about four pounds heavier per tire. Hard to get a good feel for exactly how much of a difference that would make, but I'd rather keep the weight as low as possible since...
So I bought the Roush Quicksilver wheels, 20"x9.5". I've pretty much decided on the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 for the tires. I imagine those tires on 255/35R20 should fit just fine, correct? Totally new to the aftermarket wheel and tire world, so I just want to make sure before I pull...
I'm interested in upgrading to some aftermarket wheels that are 20 x 9.5 inch and then matching them to Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 tires. I've currently got the 18 x 8 foundry black painted wheels.
I'm mainly upgrading to the 20" wheel for the looks and I'm not interested in going to...
Am I the only one that is actually disappointed they are going with quad tips?
I personally like it when Ford leaves a few things on the car that can be improved upon. That allows us "car people" to fix the car up the way we like it, while at the same time making our car unique and stand out...
