They look good but I'm with you..I guess im the only one that couldnt care less about having any shade of blue for a car.
Nice find! Here's the listing.
It does look lighter than that old Vista Blue, but I've parked my 14' DIB next to this. They are Identical. I don't understand how some say that DIB looks a little purplish, not even slightly. DIB Looks very dark like Kona Blue, at night. I don't know why the awful pastel Easter egg grabber is back, and they should have done a nice metallic such as the Flame blue on the F150's and there should be a nice metallic purple (like Dodge and Chevy have), and a nice mild Forest green.Looks lighter than vista blue. I like it in the pic, seeing in person will be the tell all. To me DIB had too much of a purple hue but color choice is very subjective.
Guys, do none of you have enough common sense to notice, that the platinum white is already in the Ford line up on the F150, Fusion and Lincoln products? There are two White pearl colors on Lincolns: A Chrystal Champaign (yellowish-pink) and Platinum white which has a very distant pale pink to blue hue. The Mustangs platinum white is a pearl metallic. Dare I say it, it's a classy white, that I think just doesn't belong on a mustang. My two cents. Oh, it was good to see a lightning blue n the sun, it is brighter than DIB. Not much, but enough that I might go for it. Ford needs to get their act together with these colors and the dim LED DRL's, and hit the gym. It's a bad day when a cam SS is as fast as our GT350R.Yep there is definitely a pearl effect to the platinum and in some light actually looks like it could have a pink hue.
it is always a matter where the ford sideWhere did you read Ford switching to Michelin? They have had a partnership with Pirelli that is why they continued to use their inferior tires. I would be suprised if we honestly did get the Michelin as OEM and heck I might even wait for a Mach 1 if I can get it in any of the blue colors in this thread. I have a feeling it will only come in typical boring colors like polo green, black, and maybe a grey.
The Coyote was faster than the LS3/L99 powered Camaro since the Coyote debuted for the 2011 model year. With the introduction of the 16 using the LT1, now it is beating the Mustang. It will be a never ending back and forth, you win some and you lose some. Also, Ford needs to put some life into those dull, dim DRL LED's up front. They're almost not visible on white or silver cars in sun light. And lastly, the part of the hood that meets at the nose of the car at the inside corners of the headlights (tear ducts), sticks out almost 3/4 of an inch compared to the outside part, which is flush. There's video of the mustang hood catching air and billowing up like a sail almost an inch at 85-90+ mph on a track and on the freeway in states with 75 mph speed limits. Plus, the IRS has improved the ride but handling has gone down in wrong direction. The car wallows towards the outside of turns. Reminds me of a 1980 Cadillac Brougham.
Oh and there's a new Mach 1 on the way, with Gt350 bits here and there including quad tips out the back and wider rubber, brakes, Michelin Pilot Supersports << (finally a good sticky tire on the GT), because the crappy summer Pzeros on my track pack 14' would spin easily when the car was stock and they wore out fast. The Pilots are far superior.mi swapped a set out when I went through the Zeros at 16k miles. My god the car handled better, gripped better off the line when still cool and like industrial Velcro when warm. The mustang needs a Diet. I wan to see just one year where the 5.0 is faster than a cam SS, stock for stock. They'vw been about even since 2010, but the new SS just whoops our S550 GT like it was a Focus ST vs 5.0....
A friend in Bloomfield Mi, works at FMC. He says there's a good tune coming out for the Procal tuner from Ford Racing for both the 2.3 and the 5.0... Oh, and that the next mid level mustang, (Mach 1 or Bullit), will have at least 465 hp. Possibly 470... Only downside to that s it's on 93 octane. Subtract 10 hp for 91.... That S550 engineer buddy also said 5.0 is 10 hp less on 91 octane.msucks because CA is 91 or less. And nobody else rates their vehicles power on anything above 91... Odd.
That's from the European configurator. Either they have a very poor picture, or they get a slightly different blue. My guess is for the former. Just look at Guard on the configurator. It looks nothing like the color does in pictures or in person. I think some of these colors are hard to reproduce in the dynamic configurator pictures.
