Inexpensive drag setup

Looking around for an inexpensive track setup. Thinking if I can maybe pickup 2 factory premium wheels like mine (19x8.5) I can slap on some DRs. Anyone know which ones I can throw on a 19x8.5 wheel? Or maybe a previous s197 wheel that may fit? Looking for options without paying top dollar for welds or something like that.

Try American muscle or latemodelrestration. Look for the cheapest 18X10 off of an s197 and run a 305 Drag radial. Best prices on drag radials are usually on ebay but AM or LMR will mount and balance the tires for you. Usally at no cost or a small fee.

Looked and seems like it will be close to 1000 for 2 wheels/tires. Lol

I am in need of the same thing. I don't care what wheel it is. I will switch to go to the track and use reg rims tires for the street.

Seems like used GT500 or S197 is cheapest. Just gotta wait. I dont want to spend 800-1000 for 2 new wheels and tires.

GT500 18X10s with nitto NTO5Rs 305/45/18
American racing is selling the GT500 wheels in 18X10 for $95.
Two new nitto NTo5Rs on Ebay are $521 or 555R drag radials for $514.
$711 dollars for new wheels and tires is about as cheap as it gets without buying used.

Thanks! Im going to see if MT has that size. Nitto's are a bit hard imo (unless they have changed compound in the last 3 yrs?) I'm assuming this car is stock suspension and these wheels bolt on and go?

I have also heard that the SN95 wheels are good to go also as far as fitment and track wheels.. a pair of 17s would be lighter..

Used is the way to go for budget minded buyers. I picked up the two wheels on my car for $100. They had a little curb rash but they only see track duty so :shrug: used
