I was in Fresno the other day for a Bellator Fight. Walking out to my car after the fight there was a group of about 8 college kids, mostly young women. One of the girls see the lights come on as I hit the fob. She asks, "Is that your car?" "Yes it is," I respond. "What is it?" another girl asks. Before I can respond girl one says, "It's a GT350, CAN I HEAR IT?"

It seems to get attention almost every time I drive it. Whenever I give a friend a ride, someone will let me know how much they love it. I've had several Valet drivers in Los Angeles tell me what a hot ride it is, including one in Santa Monica, who didn't want to drive it because it intimidated him. This guy likely parks Lambos daily, so I don't know what he was saying.

Ultimately not only is a great deal $/performance but also $/ego strokes.

I'm sure this will get me yelled at again, but... Magneride, while an extremely capable suspension system, is not "exotic". It's standard or optional on every currently available Cadillac (if I remember correctly), the Camaro ZL1, C6 and C7 Corvettes, multiple Audis, etc.

Regarding the engine, the E90/E92 M3's V8 had an 8400 RPM redline, but I doubt anybody would consider those cars as "exotics". I would agree that the Voodoo's flat-plane crank makes it more special than the M3's S65, though.

I think that the classification of something as an "exotic" is independent of numbers, and simply can't really be quantified. I think most people would consider the Lamborghini Miura to be an "exotic", but it can probably be out-accelerated, out-braked, and out-handled by a V6 Toyota Camry.
I'll bet in Germany, a 350 is considered very exotic...

Congrats jwhite,
Very cool day for you. I would have passed by all those other cars as well.

Hey blaze489,
You would have been miserable being at this car show anyway. I hate to be judgemental but probably a lot of pretentious and snobsters there. If you look at this pic you can see some 4 door cars, a couple of GTR's and an orange SUV. Not sure I consider those "exotics". The GT350 would have fit right in. More people hanging around it than the other "exotics". I'm posting a pic of the car show but I'm not sure it will show up.
I was there, me and my friend got there at 11:15 and left at noon. There wasn't much to see. What kind of car show is it when everyone has their windows up and there hoods down. :headbonk:

I test drove some great cars and cross shopped a broad range. The cars that I put at the top of the list that fit my budget and intentions were the 911 Turbo (997), Ferrari Modena 360, Corvette Stingray and the Shelby GT350. For me the Shelby GT350 is leagues better than all of those options, which is really quite something.

Yesterday at a local Cars and Coffee with the usual mix of non-exotic, but interesting foreign and domestic vehicles, a stranger walked up to me and shook my hand. He said, "Thanks for bring your car out. I never thought I'd get to see one. It seems like they're all getting put away and never driven."

Out in public - whether it's at local car show or on the track in search of the perfect apex - that's the sweet spot for the GT 350.

Well, I guess that rules out the P1, the 918, the Huayra, and the TheFerrari in your definition...

Wonder what they were saying when they invented syncros. "You're not a man unless you double clutch like you should! You're lucky that 100 shot of nos didn't blow the welds on the intake. Almost had me...?"

Again I know they all went to them and with the Technology advancement they are probably far superior, but for a weekend warrior like my self the manual just makes me feel more engaged with driving. It adds to the fun of just everyday fun spirited driving. Again just my opinion, that's all

It's unfortunate they don't offer the option anymore, and I understand why. The amount of people wanting manual exotic cars are very low. The supply of manual exotic cars, even lower. Which is why the values of those cars are skyrocketing.

I was very excited about the dual clutch autos coming out. Figured I try the best from Porsche. I test drove the PDK 997 GTS and PDK 911 Turbo (2010). It ruined both cars.

in the picture with the GTR theres a girl in a yellow jersey I kinda like her
She was sharp! Seen her a few times that day
Lol!

I do agree driver's engagement in a sport car is fun and really enjoyable but as far as performance goes there is nothing faster than double clutch and particularly porsche PDK. One of the reason they put that transmission in the 991 gt3 rs.
Don't get me wrong I love MT which is why I want to buy a gt350R

I figured most of the exotic's went auto for 1 of 2 reasons. 1 most buyers of them say $100k+ cars only old men could afford and they don't want to shift. 2 some little 18 year old brainiac engineers came out to test the car and couldn't find the "D" indicator on the dash:lol:.
And above quote just so orgasmic that perfect 2nd to 3rd gear shift, great quote!!!
