UK Mustang delivery

We were being quoted 12 week delivery from leaving the factory. My car gate released around the middle of January and looked like it could beat the 12 weeks by a fortnight or so, but then took around three weeks to travel the length of England up to Edinburgh. Picked it up on the 9th April.

I've not been keeping up to speed with this thread since my car arrived so apologies if I'm missing the point, but are delivery times getting longer?

Andy Barratt said on here in Feb that "we are working on significantly shortening delivery times from the plants"

on current evidence that has not been achieved. They've not even slightly shortened delivery times. It's still at 12 weeks.

Part of the problem I guess is that we have more visibility of the various stages thanks to [MENTION=20131]Manders Mustang[/MENTION] et al. We can see that the cars have spent three times as long sitting around at docks as they have actually travelling. We can see the missed ships, we can see the cars waiting for QC or transporters but we can't see the behind the scenes issues they may face. I've said it before but if Ford were able to set a delivery date and stick to it we wouldn't be as uppity about it. It's the moveable feast that gives the impression of incompetence

Just been thinking. No Company wants bad press or negative comments about their product or service.

However, vast majority of buyers are not bitching about this in public, it's just their friends & family. Not good but a whole lot better than certain individuals letting it all out on a public forum.

Someone who wants to earn their wage should put two & two together & get all our cars delivered pronto. We'd be happy, you lot waiting would be happy, you lot who already have their cars would be happy & more importantly, those waiting/wishing/planning to order would be happy.

Mr Bloggs who isn't on the forums bitching, loses out to the back of the queue but not many know the details.

Interesting. Did Stacey tell you that? Have already emailed her this week so don't want to send another one. Last she said to me was that it should be there for 2 weeks before coming over to Southampton

Yup, Stacey emailed me today, although she did say to check on Friday with her to confirm it is on the ship.

It seems that the Mustang team are another part of the chain working with one hand tied behind their back's, as they are not informed when the vehicles are leaving Liverpool. It isn't their normal port for delivery either. So you never know it could be on the road as we speak. :lol:

My mustang has been booked on the Tarago this afternoon. Set to sail from Baltimore on the 23rd of June and arrive in Zeebruggee on the 1st July.

Anyone in the docks been assigned to the Tarago?

You never know I suppose. My colleague spotted another two transporters today full of mustangs on m6 southbound

Today was the 1st time I seriously considered just backing out of this. The wait is starting to get to me. Plus a mate of mine is pestering me to go have a look at an M2 as he works at BMW
It's so near yet so far and can feel more hiccups coming
