Anybody's Sync3 go for a crap yet?

Out for a drive yesterday, all going great, top down, listening to some good tunes and tried to do some fan/climate settings from the touch screen. Well when I touched the climate icon, it disappeared. Touched the radio icon and same thing. Did same for all icons and all went blank. Just had a blank blue screen. Tried radio settings from wheel and couldn't see shit on the screen. All steering wheel controls worked for the radio. Just couldn't see anything. I didn't try any voice commands as the top was down and figured it wouldn't work. :frusty:

When I got to my destination, I shutoff the car. Screen stayed on, but looked like night mode (black background). Parked for 15 minutes, came back and all good and been fine since. :shrug:

Anyway, anyone else have sync3 go for a big shit yet?

Once in a awhile every computer has to have a ctrl/alt/delete. A digital enema. Be glad it's not an Airbus.

But my 2013 FX4 has MFT and I have never had an issue with it. Sync3 is "supposed" to be an upgrade????? I haven't seen any evidence of this yet:shrug:

Others (myself included) are having the same or similar issues with it. There is a big thread somewhere. The 'fix' seems to be doing a master reset or disconnecting the battery thus forcing a cold boot.

Does it "fix"? or just prolong? :frusty:

Mine has been fine since without a reset. But I am guessing it will be back:headbonk:

My Sync died one-time and required a fuse pull from the pass side footwell, remove and replace and it's been fine for months now. Just stopped connecting to my phone/bluetooth.

I was kinda bummed when I opted for a CPO 2015 which has MFT. Now, not so much.

Mine has been fine since without a reset. But I am guessing it will be back:headbonk:

My guess is, like a PC, it will get it's panties in a wad again & need to be re-booted.

The first few versions of MFT were apparently crap in term of bugginess and performance.

Always going to be bugs in a new software release.

I hear what yu are saying. I have been an IT/networks guy for a long time, more network side. But right now, if I could switch back to the MFT, I would. Looks better and has always worked for me.

I am not really knocking sunc3, just really don't think it's any better. :shrug:

They could put a prettier face on the MFT screen, I do have to say that.
Otherwise the latest update is pretty stable IMHO.
