Hi, im new to driving stick and i was told by someone that also has a 15 gt that my clutch spring was removed, and that this makes the cars clutch heavier. I didnt notice a difference until i drove my friends 16 today and it was way easier to drive. The clutch was super easy...so i decided to find out if my spring was there and i was surprised to find out that it was in fact still in place. Im confused on this and wanted to know if i should replace it with the steeda or if it takes awhile to break in. The cars at 7k miles. thanks.

Sounds like you already have an aftermarket clutch spring, that is why yours is stiffer. This is favorable for most experienced manual drivers so they can get a better feel of the clutch engagement point. There is no break in. If you want a lighter clutch like your friends you will need to buy the stock 185lb clutch spring.

The last post sounds ass backwards, no offense....But the stock spring is 185 lbs. and much stiffer than the STEEDA spring which is only 35 lbs. Takes less force and the clutch engagement is much smoother with the Steeda spring...

By easier to drive, do you mean "easier to push clutch in" or "easier to feel the engagement point"?
The stock spring makes it hard to feel when the clutch engages. It's like the top 10% of pedal travel, so as you let up off the clutch its nothing-nothing-nothing-nothing-ENGAGE. With the steeda spring (or no spring at all...) you have about half of the pedal travel where the clutch is engaging, allowing you to slip it much easier and not have jerky shifts.

his was definitely easier to feel the engagement point...it felt like there was a cushion that helped you to a certain point. For mine i feel as if i have trouble finding the engagement point like you stated.

That post was correct ... the stock 185 lb spring will make the clutch pedal feel lighter. Theory is that the OP already has a softer clutch spring installed, and that's why his clutch pedal feels a bit heavier than his buddies car with has the stock clutch spring.

If the OP bought the car new, and if it's a late build 2016 then maybe it has a softer clutch spring from the factory. I read some place that Ford was going to put a softer clutch spring in the 2017s (?), and maybe they started with the late build 2016.

I personally preferred the spring in after I took it off. I was a real PITA getting it back on I'll tell you that ... tip for anyone trying to put the stock spring back in -> use a blunt nose visegrips, not the needle nose visegrips.
