So, my order arrived really late today (G5137). Looks good in Magnetic. Dealer was able to take out of transport mode and have it in the detail shop so they can get to it for first thing in the morning.

Bless them, they let me take it on a 4 mile loop (no twisties on it unfortunately) knowing I might still not go through with purchase. As many cars as I buy from them, and this one is likely next tomorrow, I think it was fair though.

Ok, here's what 4 miles was like to me:

1. Exhaust in Sport Mode, suspension in Sport mode, more sport car feel than GT, but actually felt similar to my GT, just louder.
2. Louder than my Coyote with Roush on inside, but not that much, nothing an X-pipe added to my exhaust wouldn't change quickly.
3. Power didn't feel that much more than stock Coyote, granted due to "break-in" period I didn't take it above 5K rpms, but know torque should already be there at 3500. Does the insanity everyone talks about come later? I was honestly disappointed up to that point. Another problem, I usually drive my GT alone mostly, the test drive had my wife and nearly full grown daughter in back. That probably added 300lbs from my normal.
4. Transmission.... way better!
5. Honestly, I could barely hear a difference in sound profile between the Voodoo and Coyote with Roush inside it, just sounded like a more aggressive exhaust on Coyote as I mentioned before. Was trying to hear that "exotic" noise, but not sure I could. Outside, I hear some differences, but again we didn't rev it too many times and not above 4K. Part of wanting this car was hearing special noises compared to others. What do others think? Does this engine sound that much different than Coyote in your opinions?

I'm supposed to sign tomorrow morning, I'm having some second thoughts as I love my GT w/PP and now wondering if this car is double $$ better than what's sitting in my driveway. Of course, might help to see it without bird crap and dirt all over it.

Appreciate any feedback anyone wants to offer, especially if you came from an S550 GT prior to GT350.

You didn't stretch its legs enough, above 5K RPM it is a different animal, you have to break it in. The GT350 is very mild mannered under 4000 RPM and drives like a 6 banger.
You don't say if this is a base or package car (tech or track pack). If you have the magnaride setup, it is amazing as far as the adjustability.
Since your GT is a 2015 you won't feel a lot off difference compared to a base car with the IRS.
What you should have felt driving on the street below 5000 RPM was the difference in the brakes, steering and the trans.

Track pack, wouldn't have ordered it any other way. My current GT is in my signature. Thanks for comments.

Car heaven is at redline. Best advice I can give you is try to find a forum member here, and ask them to at least give you a ride(if not drive it a bit) while they take you to redline. Bonus points if it's a car with its resonators deleted.

Pics from phone are too big to upload. I also have a build thread if you search.

yes, you're missing a lot...

There's no comparison of this car to a GT, especially on a straight road. The fact that the car road as good as your GT in "sport mode" says a lot for a car that would obliterate your GT on a course.

This engine is vastly different in audible character than a Coyote... my 13 B302 was no doubt an awesome sound to hear at 5K RPMs coming thru the side pipes, but doesn't hold a flat spatula to the voodoo.

I suggest you won't know much different on a flat surface, but for me, the instant I started my R it was amazingly different than my B302 in sound.

If these nuances are making you think twice this early in the game then this car probably isn't for you...

Good luck in whatever your decision may be.

You didnt goose it enough and yeah, a lot of the ruckus happens after 5k. The sound is even better once you cut out the resonators as well, its more the tone and character than just pure volume. The roush is just loud so you cant just go by volume.

2 passengers will also greatly impact the butt dyno

Thanks for the post, Siggy550. It's seemingly the first of its kind as everything I have read, heard, or seen about the GT350 has been glowing. I have come across several reviews lately that have mentioned how under 3500rpm, the car feels the same or a bit slower than the GT. Having just test driven the GT for the first time over the weekend, and having found that experience slightly underwhelming, I'm curious to see the responses in this thread. I live in a congested metropolitan area where pushing to redline won't be possible regularly, so I do wonder how high you have to rev before feeling that euphoria everyone speaks of, or just feeling and hearing the glory of the voodoo.

I'm incredibly excited to get my 2017, but like many others, test driving one before delivery will be difficult if not impossible.

Thats what I thought too, but they let me drive it. However, doing it might have given bad impression according to everyone.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing a bad impression thread about the car. Every experience I've read about is that it has met, and exceeded expectations. But, the car isn't for everyone. It's not your every day muscle car. Those car's are usually torquey down low, where as this car, you have to wring it out like a european/italian sports car.

I was planning on buying, the drive just probably made me question. Too much expectations maybe withhout getting to really run it? Having some let go issues too. My wife doesn't help the situation either when she says my GT looks more mean....I think she's wrong.

To get the full fun factor yes, but its far from a slouch even down low. It builds revs very quickly so the time spent under 3.5k can be very minimal

And only revving it to 5k with 3 ppl in the car is like playing just the tip with a super model and saying it was a bad lay

Even before I got my Shelby the GT was always a joke, I second guessed myself to trade in my big turbo ecoboost twice for a GT.

Each time I drove one the sound was nice but handling was clumsy and it was slow, very slow.

Once you get to push it you'll realize how much more of a car it is.
