Here's my GT350 dyno run compared to a Coyote dyno run (post this frequently, because it is a good illustration of how the Voodoo makes its power and therefore how you might expect it to feel on the street and track).

A couple things stand out:
1. Below 3500 RPM, the torque on the Voodoo is similar to the Coyote, but at 3000-3500 there is that dip and large jump in torque that is noticeable by the seat of the pants. Above 3500 the Voodoo has a bit more torque at times, but in general the Coyote and Voodoo have very similar torque down low and very similar gearing, so the general feel will therefore also be very similar.
2. It isn't until 5500 RPM that the Voodoo really starts to make more power than the Coyote.
3. Because the Voodoo makes its power with RPM, not torque, it will feel similar to the GT in daily driving (at least in the straights).

I test drove a GT/PP and found it too soft and found the rear end to be disconnected from the front.

The GT350 in "normal" mode has a similar feel to me, but in "sport" mode the GT350 really feels buttoned down. In "track" mode the GT350 is very stiff, maybe too stiff for most streets, but it works very well on track.

So, I guess I'm not surprised that the GT350 feels similar to your GT in a straight line when you are not hard on the gas and winding out the engine. In the corners I think you'd notice a difference when in sport mode, and the Recaro seats and other interior bits give it a nice feel that is a little different from the GT.

Your GT is beautiful, BTW, and the black with tinted windows and nice wheels really do make it menacing. I do think the front end of the GT350 is tough to beat though, and maybe with similar tint it will match your GT in terms of aggressiveness.

Other thing to note, the MT82 has shorter gears to amplify the torque. The Tremec has long gears for track usage. Since you have a PP, you have the same rear end as the 350. This will really make that low end torque feel stronger in the GT, but the 350 will keep pulling hard all throughout the powerband.

I downloaded your chart months ago and studied it numerous times trying to decide if I was going to like the Voodoo or would rather try my first supercharger on the GT.

I signed for the Shelby today, next 20 miles were a little different. Still haven't rung it out, but learned enough to know the chassis and Tremec alone are stupid better. And now, I hear the difference! I like to describe it as a unique wailing, but low pitched. Definitely cool and different. I thought the GT S550 shifter was a major improvement over S197 (and it is), but 350 is on an another level. Looking forward to next 3500 rpms!

Appreciate the input.

20% tint going all around, except windshield next.

Yes. However, the day didn't come without it's challenges. Couldn't get the car up my driveway when I got home. We ended up putting some boards down on my curb and I've got about an 1" clearance now... but that's temporary. I'm looking for some good curb ramps, we looked at the Bridgit, but not sure their specs are going to work. I even had a quote tonight on redoing my driveway, really don't want to spend $4K just to get my car in/out. I'm open to suggestions.

Regarding the experience, probably shouldn't have taken the 5 minute test drive. It only left options for doubt. See my post above, I've seen the light now another 25 miles into it and still haven't gone above 5K. I set the shift light to 5K for now. Contemplating the push it break-in method on this forum!

There's my black one sitting next to it. My wife's Edge Sport is next to that as she met me at the dealership.

Beautiful!! By the way, there's nothing in the GT350 supplement that says you can't take it to redline after the car is warmed up ;)

Push it break in method? Read the manual again. It says to vary your rpm and not to hold WOT for extended period of time. I did exactly as FP advised and rang her out per the manual all through the rev range never holding WOT for extended periods. there is no push it method but only what FP advises. No issues what so ever. I wonder if those that have babied their car have had engine issues vs those that have not? HMMM???

Glad you're enjoying the car brother. Go ahead and ease on up past 5K RPMs... These cars beg to be driven. She looks beautiful.

Anybody could own a GT with a SC... Less than 6k people can on a 16' GT350, and even fewer a track pack.

Siggy550,

When I first read your forum post thread last week and over the weekend, I was thinking... Who is this guy? And why is he having second doubts on the GT350? Yes, potentially emotional issues letting go of your GTPP is definitely an item but I remember reading about.... Feeling the same as GT, not hearing a difference in exhaust sound, etc etc.

Then I read your reply threads and saga on picking up your car, the next 25 miles starting to hear a difference, and then running into your first problems with your driveway curb.

Who is this crazy guy who thinks the GT350 isn't one remarkable, special, and unique car?

Now I know the answer! Siggy550 is actually a fellow colleague of mine in my industry as we both ran into each other at the same work conference tonight, shared a few beers at the bar, and talked about each others new GT350!

Small world we live in sometimes, but as Siggy was telling me about his first driving experience, his first reaction to the GT350 and his curb issues it reminded me of this post thread. He even originally wanted my color and vice versa!

Siggy550: I'm glad you're a fellow proud owner of a GT350 and see the LIGHT! Let's get our cars together and see who else is interested in a meet up after we break in our cars!

Ps. You posted the wrong chassis number in your first post!

Iekgoplot,

Great catching up last night. For everyone else, yes I was an idiot for questioning. Only 50 miles since that test drive and already giggling like school girl when driving! My GT made me smile and grin, but this thing is just makes me laugh at its ridiculousness. It was awesome finding out you were this forum member. Awesome car you have and we absolutely need to do the Track Attack in the same session.

Also, when you asked me if I was on mustang6g, I knew I was going to have a shameful moment when I disclosed my username to you! Ha, what a small world.

Look forward to getting the cars together sometime between SD and MO.

Are you crazy, a magnetic track pack out of the box it is a street legal race
car. Read some posts, look at the dyno graphs not to mention the motor gets
better, looser after break in. Of course the attention the car receives is a whole different matter and it is fun to drive 2nd gear from 3500 revs on hold on to your hat,

I hope you come to your senses and buy it, it wil be your loss.;););)
I came to my senses!

Doesn't look like a PP. Wheels? Cant see the brakes so don't know if you have aftermarket wheels on as they are not listed in your description. Either way, I traded my 15 GT/PP for my GT350 without test driving it. Didn't need to! So many much more experienced drivers had already gone on about the car for months before the release. Apples to apples, these too cars are really not comparable as they fill to very different performance benchmarks. Listen to everyone that has written on this threads about the car. I will not add about the capabilities of this car as it has already been said several times over.
It was PP. I had Carroll Shelby CS70 wheels on it, which are for sale now in the member adds forums.

have any other hobbies? I suggest not buying this car
I'm an accomplished amateur golfer, which is why I'm so far behind on updating forum. I was at major tournament this last weekend (didn't win).

Funny though, golf doesn't turn me on anymore the way is used to. Talking cars and driving cars does though. Even my wife said my interests and hobbies are changing. Moving on to the next phase of my life I guess.

Final post on this thread for me so hopefully this thread will die, fall into the depths and not embarrass me anymore. When I get home from traveling for work this week, I plan to really drive it and get some good pics, update registry, etc.

Hopefully my new custom steel ramps will be finished too, so getting it in/out of the driveway won't be such an event.

Getting out of the driveway should always be an event. Probably not what you meant though. Wait till you start shifting at 8250.
