Hopefully this is a relatively easy question to answer. I was thinking of buying a ProCharger stage 2 complete system and installing myself, but I am not sure if I need anything else. Do I, or SHOULD I, buy new spark plugs? Or anything else like the oil pump gears or anything similar? This would be my first time doing forced induction on a car so I don't have any experience, just what I happen to catch on this forum. I would also only be on the procharger tune, and not racing, just WOT every once in a while for some fun. And car will have around 8-9k miles

Thanks!

Crank damper

Just my opinion, at a minimum, put a crank damper on.
ATI or maybe Romac. Strongly lean towards ATI.
TG OPG if more high rpm.
PM the other PC guys for plugs n other stuff.
Check out Travis replacement metal intake plumbing if the kit intake seems like it could get soft n fold.

I would personally recommend the Beefcake Special Procharger, as that's what I'm planning on going with when I get my S550.

The Beefcake Special includes the required colder spark plugs as well as better injectors, a BAP, and a Lund Remote tune (which will be a bit better than the Procharger included tune)

Oil pump gears and timing sprocket are always a good idea for "insurance" incase they break. There are certain hp levels they start to be recommended it seems, but I'll be going with them for extra insurance. The cost for them and installation is less than a new engine if the OPG shatters.

I've definitely been looking at the beefcake specials, but I can get the complete kit with the 1000cc injectors for quite a bit cheaper and I'm still on a budget for the most part haha. Also keep in mind I'm not going to be racing or doing anything too crazy, it would be just for fun. But yeah, definitely will be looking into the crank damper and everything else mentioned, for sure.

we can do the complete kits or the custom packages, whatever fits your budget

my beefcake special will be a little cheaper if we swap to the DW injectors as well, keep that in mind

I would definitely work with Beefcake and get everything all at once as a kit.
I pieced mine together purchasing the two big components from Beefcake and over all saved some $$$ but not pain. The $$$ would have been well spent to avoid all the time and BS I went through piecing it together.

Yeah I think I will probably order through beefcake when it's time to get everything, might end up being out of my initial budget but should be a lot better

Paxton seems to be outshining Procharger on these cars again

Hah I'm in the same boat... Been looking at beefcake procharger also! But the price went up like $300 recently? I built it today and now it's over 7k for the same kit I built weeks ago that was at $6700 approximately. I was torn on the Paxton vs the procharger since I was looking for a centrifugal... I also wanted to avoid the Procharger canned tune since I've heard nothing really good about it. I don't know about the Paxton's canned tune so that's why the Beefcake special with Lund tune looks perfect. $6700 for the Paxton and $7100 for the Procharger HO. That's with injectors, stat, stage 2 intercooler and helical gears on the Procharger. I think the Paxton already comes with the larger intercooler.... I live in Vegas and the bigger intercooler looks like a must? Good luck man! My head spins thinking about all the different kits...

Paxton would fit my budget and probably be a better bang for the buck but I'm not entirely confident I could install it myself, and paying an extra $1000 or more for installation makes the procharger fit my budget more, plus the sense of accomplishment from having installed it myself haha

But now it seems they are getting in whipple territory as far as pricing. Hell I guess I can't rule vmp either! I had my mind set on a centrifugal because of the power delivery and cost vs the others.... I wanted to avoid prochargers canned tune because I haven't heard great things about it. I have zero info on Paxton's canned tune so the beefcake special with Lund looked like just what I needed. So like me if your still thinking centrifugal the Beefcake special is the way to go... But now it looks like it's more than a vmp and getting close enough in price to at least look at the whipple. Sorry... These are just my thoughts after building my kit today. Lol I do love Beefcakes website! LEGIT!
pricing hasn't changed, hit me up with any questions

Yeah I would totally want to get a vmp or whipple but I am fairly sure I wouldn't be able to install it myself and it's also more expensive than the very basic/low end centrifugal ones, which is what I would be doing. Beefcake website is definitely one of the best, for sure! Paxton with lund tune and ngauge is what I'm strongly considering right now if I can be fairly certain I can do the install

I'm really curious just how much more involved the Paxton install is vs the PC

one is rated 5-6 hours and the other 8-10? IIRC

The instructions for the paxton are online but I haven't been able to find the procharger instructions to compare. I basically looked at the paxton tools list and didn't have everything though. I'll have to find whatever tools I don't have on amazon if I can
