Does anyone know if this car belongs to [MENTION=13014]ITLRUN[/MENTION] ? He was posting from the track about a steering issue he was experiencing at RR this weekend.

The more you look, the more it appears to be his car. TY, Black OTT and Black Roof. Slim chance that there were multiple cars with those options there this weekend. That is incredibly unfortunate.

Yes and the other GT350 was reported to have a rattling noise while on track of an unknown source that was detected by his instructor but he ran both days with no other issues that I know of.

Just want to point out.... Track Pack.
Definitely interested to know what fluid it was at least. If one of the transmission cooler hard lines popped out and sprayed fluid onto the cats or exhaust the run right by it, I could see this happening.

The thought was maybe the oil lines but I was trying not to get in the way as they looked it over so I'm not positive of the final outcome. All you can do is offer moral support and stay out of the way in situations like this.

His regular warranty should take care of any damage caused by mechanical problem since ford warranties these cars for HPDE events.

If it was the transmission line failing somehow causing the fire wouldn't Ford warranty cover it?. I realize that he was on a track but if they denied it... not good.

That's true, a few aftermarket parts on there. Who knows what was disconnected and maybe not reconnected properly. I don't think Ford is going to warranty that, and us talking about the situation here is going to seal the deal on that.
