Spoke with a representative for Ford Performance through their live chat feature. I asked about the Pro cal tuner for the 2.3 ecoboost mustang. You know, the one that doesn't void warranty that was promised at the end of 2015. The representative said they are on track for August of this year. So if you want a tuner and don't want to take a chance of voided warranty, wait until August. It comes with a supplemental 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. If I read correctly from other sources. See picture below of the short conversation with Ford Performance.

Lol no the last time I spoke with them they were literally on track for August of 2015. Ppl who already have had the car for 2 years by the time they release it will only have 1 year of warranty if the miles don't catch up first

It will come out when Half Life 3 does.

In other news, it DOES void your warranty, they just have a 3/36 warranty from Ford Racing which is far less than Ford's 5/60 powertrain warranty.

Honestly just do a tune from one of the reputable ones on here and move on. Ford is dragging this tune update out.

^ This. So many great CAI's and tuners on here. Just stay away from the guys with their own tuning device and rebadged CAI.

Probably because they're having trouble making significant power without having to restrict 5th and 6th gear throttle to <25%, or grenading the engine.

5/60? I only got a 3/36. Did you pay for extended?

-- The only problem with just getting a reputable one, say something happens that isn't even Tune related, but is a powertrain issue and Ford decides to void the warranty claiming the issue was because the tune. Then I'm SOL. At least with the Ford Performance one, I have some assurance.

Ford Performance likely isn't coming out for quite a long time. Up to you.

Everyone got 3/36 bumper to bumper and 5/60 powertrain.

You can go ahead and get a Roush tune right now with their warranty. Its been out for a while. All you nee is a Ford dealership that also carries Roush to get it done...

Do you have a link or anything about this? I can't seem to find anything.

I already have an exhaust and CAI that is not Roush. So that's out the window. Guess I'll just pray the Ford Performance one comes out. Just really want to add a downpipe, and wanted to share my info I received from FP.

Well, if its not Ford Racing CAI/Exhaust, you'd be in the same boat. I asked Roush about that exact thing (not having Roush parts) and they couldn't say yes or no if they would honor the warranty if there was an issue.

So to anyone, if you want a warrantied tune you will need to buy the parts associated with that tune. Just an FYI...

Id be willing to bet the ford racing tune will have the same restrictions as the Roush tune. Ford racing tune will be required to use only Ford racing parts for warranty coverage.
