My XP12/XP10 combo should be arriving today and I will be running them this weekend for an auto-x and then next Tuesday at the track. I will report back on how they work next week.

Can't decide if I am going to get the rotors turned or not. Personally I can't see how the old pad material isn't going to get worn off the rotor after a bit of driving, but what do I know.

Im on the fence between X10/X8 or a X8/X8 setup.

Im not terribly hard on the brakes - just the way I prefer to drive (not ever running out of track during braking) so I was thinking something that isnt terribly painful on the street would work fine.

I keep referencing EBC yellowstuff as my favorite pad from earlier track cars because it never faded on me and behave like OEM pads on street. I swear!! I have a set on order, but I have no idea how long they will take to mfg.

EDIT: Going X8 front/rear thanks Anthony@HTM

ran X8/X8 at my recent HPDE at MSR Houston. Worked great. Even after two days they hardly look worn.

I ran new front rotors and the old rear rotors on my carbotech XP12/XP10 set up at COTA a couple months ago. After the weekend, I switched back to stock pads and left my old rear rotors on yet again. No issue scraping pad material off the rotor either way with bedding. I ran an autox a few weeks ago and everything was in line with pre carbotech. I'm buying a set of G-LOC pads to put in the tool box for when these wear out.

For reference, here is a little traqmate data from COTA with the xp12/10's(hoosier r7 tires):

I ran both Carbontech and Porterfields on my Chumpcar E30.. I could get 26 hours of track time on the Carbontechs and 18 hours on the Proterfields. But the Porterfields were almost 40% cheaper. So for the 14 hour races I would use them..
I just ordered a set of of the Porterfields for my 2016 GT.. they were $400 for the fronts for the Brembo PP car. I recall this being about $200 less than the Carbontechs. I have only dont an Auto X on them.. but will let you know how my Track day at Sebring goes.

Time for an upgrade - I've been running the oem Brembo pads and after noticing some fade yesterday near the end of the sessions I'm ready for an upgrade.

I'm unsure what would be good for me; XP10 front XP8 rear, XP8 all around, G-LOC, or something else entirely.

I'm not against changing pads for each event, but I'd much prefer something I can daily as well.

Suggestions?

FWIW;
XP8 x4 very streetable, rarely any noise whatsoever. Tracking them I have yet to experience fade, but have yet to push the brakes.
edit: when there is noise, it is very slight. Until I experience fade, these are the best pads for me as I do not want to swap pads and want the car as quiet as possible when not tracking.

I have XP10 fronts on the S2000 and I DO have to change my braking behavior to avoid long screeches when not warm, unlike the XP8. Noticeable better initial bite with XP10s would be the most immediately obvious difference.

It's really up to you.

From my experience your gonna want XP10 or GLOC R10 up front and then the xp8/ R8 out back.

However xp8/r8 all around will still be better than stock
