Hi Aus-MustangGT

Have you installed a K&N yet? I've seen it pop up in your signature.

Wondering if you've got any comments, I've run a K&N in all my cars so I'll probably be doing this.

Cheers,

Art

It's not installed yet I purchased it from
K&N Car Mods Australia. Hopefully it comes in time for my tune and install next Friday.

I had a JLT, n gauge and thermostat planned but I have had some very disappointing issues with both Lethal and Lund Racing. I won't say too much at the moment as it is still in the process of being resolved. :frusty:

I thought for $104.00 you can't really go wrong. Supercheap will get it in for $120 and Autobarn was $140, just for a price comparison.

My first mod is a UPR catch can fitted with the passenger side vent hose, it is working perfectly so far.

This picture is from 350kms after installing
iUdYj9Qh.webp

Now as for why I went with UPR instead of bobs or another provider?
Basically I wasn't sure if the mounting point would be compatible or if that would cause me an issue so I decided to get one that doesn't mount. I highly recommend the UPR, it took me about 3 minutes to install.
hey mate, which model upr did you go - I'm not having much luck figuring it out, oh yeah and where from, tried UPR directly but they want $10 million dollars to ship it to Australia LOL!

If you aren't getting your car in a hurry I would just wait it out, I know of one member who is having a few issues with upr at the moment. So I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending them yet. However if you were to buy definitely from Hypermotive.

Hmm, they're not very nice numbers...

Can't wait to see the gains though
That's what our cars are putting out stock, it's pretty low to be honest but not much we can do. From a catback and tune I only expect to see around 15-20rwkw gain.

Will see tomorrow!

So I spoke to Blue power, they can't give torque numbers because they use a chasis dyno but they will give me an idea through tractive effort or something.

No idea what that means.

But my car is sitting around 270rwkw, so a decent gain on 24rwkw just through a tune and AEM air filter. To give you an idea, a cold air intake filter made 268rwkw (yes on a different day) but this kinda of gives you an idea of what they actually do. Which in this case seems to be nothing.

Fair enough then, if you're interested http://mainlinedyno.com.au/images/downloads/DYNO_TORQUE_FIGURES_-_THE_TRUTH.pdf

24rwkw is a good gain though  also shows how overrated CAIs are. Bet it pulls harder up high and drives a whole let better with that MGW now :headbang:

A quick update, I drove it home last night and it is a different car. It pulls harder up higher and the mgw is absolutely amazing. Completely changes my outlook on the car. The guys at Blue power racing were great
