So more news, still waiting on the head gaskets however the sump came in and fitte. Fitted the oil by pass fitting from Improved Racing to fit a remount oil filter adapter. The Improved Racing stuff is unreal very well produced and packaged with outstanding instructions. Also fitted the MMR Head cooling mod which again was easy to instsall and makes sense why its made.

Will you please share your understanding of why this is beneficial?

I was reading somewhere that the rear cylinders get hot by the time the coolant reaches the rear and almost pools there (I might be wrong) I would like to modify it so it flows back into the coolant line somewhere else. So coolant is always flowing past the jackets at all times.

Just make sure to install driver side catch can if you are doing this as now you will have much more oil flowing into the driver side head so more oil to catch. As I understand it this is needed in order to have more oil flowing to rear driver side cylinders and prevent common engine failure when the oil flow is reduced there. It's something that I plan to do to my Coyote as it will surely help. Can you link the kit ?

So the ups and downs of building your own motor. Fitting the harmonic balancer I snapped the installation bolt that came with the kit. bye bye crank. New crank ordered and balanced and re installed. What a head ache. Now I have a spare chank with a bolt stuck in in it. Got it all back together with the balancer installed.

So motor is stripped down again to start fresh. Rebuilt it up up again. taking my time with getting the timing correct and all the wires in the correct spot.

G'day Matt thanks for the update. Well that sucks, how did it happen? No way of getting the bolt out eg spark erosion?
