What drag tires work the best ?

I have used the Bogart wheels on 4 of my race cars , Great wheels and not heavy at all .. My Weld RT-S wheels are pretty heavy for a drag wheel ... They work great and look good but a bit on the heavy side ..

Ive always used weld. How comparable are they price wise to a pair of rts?

Bogarts are really soft and thin at the rim. They don't have that double rolled rim lip like the Welds do. That's what makes them so light, but also so fragile

Not a good street wheel. Ill stick with the RT-S 71s

That is true , I bent both front Bogarts running them on the street with my big block Dart .. They replaced them for free but made me take a wider rim so as not to have the problem again ..They where fine after that ..

I have not got a set of Bogarts for a very long time so I can't say what the price is now... Back when I got my first set they were not called Bogarts , they were called Hole shot wheels ..

Bogarts pricing is pretty close to Weld, maybe a tad cheaper. I use them on my race car and he gives me a bit of a break. Rich also said that he can make them in any style I want off his website as far as the centers. He can make them super light by using thinner shells, but not a good idea on one of these heavy cars. They are always at least 2 lbs lighter then Welds, and I like that I can pick the style I want. Either brand is a great choice, but Bogart has always been good to me.

Yes they really are a Race Wheel, Rich can make them really strong, but with that comes weight, people forget to tell you that part of the story. They want a light wheel, and are surprised that they are not as strong, go figure. You just have to be honest with him when your order them.

Yeah, I haven't run at Showtime for quite some time.

I went twice on the 295 MTII and it didn't work so well. Car was not nearly as fast as it is now. Best I managed was a 1.47.

But, that really isn't the point. I've run both the 295 II and the 305 R at BMP and OSW and all of my data, which is significant, shows the R to work better. By a long shot.

Further, with the 295 I cannot achieve traction from 40mph om the street with two steps up in pulley size. With the 305, I can hook from 40, and on the smallest pulley possible.

Im not trying to get this down to a 3000-3200lbs with driver. If i cant get it down to 3600-3700lbs with driver id be in trouble. Im not super worried about 4lbs off my ass end if i have to pamper them like they are some show wheels. If they werent as fragile id consider it definitely. Maybe ill talk with this Rich. Rich is the owner. If weight isnt a concern to you, Id buy something strong and not worry about weight. Bogart wheels, or any custom wheel that is lighter, is always gonna not be as strong, to remove weight the outer shell is usually thinner, and the center is lighter as well, hence things will get weaker. If you do call him, tell him your not concerned about weight so much, but want a strong wheel for street use. Bogarts wheels are pretty much all custom, he can built them to meet your goals, thats why I use him. My Dragster is 1365 lbs, he builds me a wheel with a .120 inner and outer shell. They would fold in one turn on a Mustang, but they are purpose built for my application. If I remember correctly they weigh 9 lbs a wheel in a 15" x 11".

Well that is good news Kelly .. If I order a set I hope I have the luck you have had with them.. I don't have the money to keep buying tires just to try them :(

11.68 @ 117 tune and tire only, stock intake even.

another car ran 11.772 @ 118.3 was drag radial and axleback with a tune, stock intake too

look at his comparable DA lmfao.. dude you must be joking over 2200 DA difference and he's running real drag wheels and skinnies. and im literally on some 40lb cobra R wheels and thats it running stock front tires. vs a guy with real drag wheels and skinnies in that kind of DA. making a .015 faster. the weight of skinnies alone would net you that. you must be smoking crack. :lol:

and no one ran an 11.68 so youre not even posting correct info. but sam from costal was the closest @ 11.662. and he had headers and skinnies still with real drag wheels and slicks on the back. sooo you're not making any good points except for showing that im right.

then next is the 11.641 with skinnies better DA and full exhaust. and you try to argue for a stock air box when some people have shown it to be better in the first place which doesn't really help your point at all.

You wouldn't have an issue with that tire on a 9.5, it's not ideal but it will work. I'm not a big fan of the way the Racestars look on a S550 with the 305 but that's offset not width.

i only have a 9" cobra R rim right now but i fit the 295/45/17 mtII's no problem. i feel like i could put a 305 on there just as easy. or do you really feel it just wont work?

i care about weight but im not going to split hairs over 4lbs. Im liking his rr10s,and his street/strip version of the dt10s or eliminator
