s550 best looking mustang ever?

While I love the 60s mustangs my favorite are 71 mustangs, i think it partly because they remind me a bit of out XA XB XC Falcon coupes. But yeah the S550 is HOT HOT HOT. 7 months down 8 to go before mine arrives

I was a Camaro/corvette guy for years. :shrug: I saw the S550 and changed my mind in a flash. This will be my first Mustang. I am looking so forward to it, I dream about it. :clap2: Not sure if that's normal, but What The Hell:ford:

I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks, and when I finally put down a deposit on one a couple hours away I couldnt sleep normally and had about 50% of my regular appetite for the four days I had to wait to go pick it up.

I'm not a brand guy. When I started thinking about getting a sportscar a couple years ago I was solidly in the challenger camp and my backup plan was the camaro. I just couldn't get on board with the Mustang rear end. It looked huge and ugly. The last couple years they were a bit better. The boss style front end was sweet though, I must say.

I've had my 16 for a week today. Everyone is going "dude, that car is BAD ASS". Even the Ford haters are admitting it. One of my buddies at work took the full tour yesterday and was freaking out. Pictures DO NOT do these cars justice. Seeing one in person is a whole other experience. I still can't believe a car so sweet is sitting in my driveway right now.

'66 coupe is my alltime favorite.
'66 vert also.
'73 vert is runner up.
I think the S550 is very nice looking however, depending on color, stripes, badges etc. can really make car look outstanding.

So, basically whenever a new Mustang body style comes out it immediately becomes the "second best" next to the 67/68.

This formula is repeating.

Also for me this car is more of a Sports car than a Muscle car, it sits lower like a sports car, where the S197 looked a pure muscle car. I think this car was built with the World market in mind, where the S197 was built just for America.

Yep for sure it's no longer looks like a muscle car. The lines now are Aston Martin like and it definitely looks like a true Euro sports car. Was made to be sold over where you are and bring in more buyers that would never be caught dead in a muscle car.

I've silently asked this question to myself... why do I like the look of this generation of mustang...

IMO it is the best looking Mustang to date. Riding behind a vert the other day I realized how sexy the back-end looks. Different than the coupe.

Ford did a great job on this car.

You bring up a good point. I'm not sure if it's available in the UK's Netflix but there's a documentary called "A Faster Horse" on our Netflix here in the US. If I recall correctly, they mentioned a global design that would not alienate the rest of the world. You should check it out - it takes you on a historical journey through the years of Mustang and also shows the creative process from A-Z for this new S550 model.

I think they did an excellent job at making it a global car too! I remember prior to the release, looking at a picture of a newer M6 BMW and thinking wow that's a gorgeous car - only to realize later that it was actually a Mustang! :headbonk:

Definitely was built with Europe sales in mind and it's obviously European influenced. Wondering what the refresh will bring in terms of the better LEDs European buyers are accustomed to over there from brands like Audi and BMW.

The Mustang that I think looks the best is the 69 Fastback. I think my 14 looks better than the new 15/16 body style so I don't consider the S550 the best looking Mustang.
