New on here and been researching for a month or so. I am looking to get a 2017 and have some general questions. I was at a local dealership today and got put on the wait list (think I am 3 or 4 they said). We did not discuss any ADM - so my question is how do you handle that? when they call me to order - is it handled then or what? would 5k over be a good deal for 2017? Is it reasonable to think MSRP could be had? They have a 2016 coming in and are asking 7k over - I told them no thanks.

Also, what would the expected delivery date be? In other words best case August and worst case say January?

Interesting take on ADM from one of the manager there (made sense to me). They have a 2016 R coming in and they are going to auction it off. The guy said he would not sell the R for 30k+ over because that leaves a bad taste in peoples mouth and he didn't want to do that. But on the other hand he doesn't want to sell it for 10k over to have that person to turnaround and sell it for 30k over and make a quick 20k.

Don't know about MY17 pricing, but they are probably more like MY16 than different. R models are seeing some crazy numbers in places. My (Atlanta area) dealer has 2 GT350 tech packs available for +$5K (probably firm). Both are black, one with white stripes and the other with black stripes. Not the best price (which seems to be MSRP, or juts a little less), but they have them in stock. PM me if interested for contact info

Good luck on your search. :D

The R's aside, if you can find $5/7k ADM that's a good deal. Also assuming you can order what you want. MSRP deals are far from normal. No proof of this but I'd even guess that some claiming their MSRP deal, prob just won't admit to paying an ADM,,,,,,,,,,no proof just my opinion.

I paid MSRP, I dont see why some think it would be worth lying about. But end of the day, I really dont care either way

But I would disagree 5-7k over is a good deal, I know some folks who got those deals in the bay area, so anywhere else minus a few big cities, that is not really that good. I would call it fair at best.

bump for answers to questions. Delivery date guess if big dealer and order soon? How do you handle ADM - what is fair for ADM on 2017? Should I say MSRP or no deal? So on....

Guys ordering 2017 thoughts or anyone in the know.....thanks for your thoughts!!

Honestly no real way to tell about delivery since they havent officially started production and the MY16 orders and first deliveries were all sorts of buggered up. Some folks ended up waiting 8-10+ months from order to dealer, others only a few months total.

If its a large dealer, and you are the first priority order, then I would think before october or so would be a safe bet. As that was when the first MY16 GT350s shipped and there were a slew of delays associated with first year production

Now asking for MSRP AND first priority from a large dealer might be a tough sell. Its really up to you, but it cant hurt to ask. I would venture to saw a lot of the MSRP deals for the MY16s came from smaller town dealers, although I would also think total demand for the regular GT350s will subside some

If you could get an R for say 10k over what your get the regular 350 for - why would you not do that? Has to be affordable I understand... but if it is why not? Just wondering incase I have that option.

I would get the R for 10k over, that in fact is a very good deal. any dealer asking 10k over on the R would likely do 1-2k over max on a base

The R is going for around 50 more than a regular 350.

A "good" deal has nothing to do with your perceived value relative to the manufactureres SUGGESTED sales price and has everything to do with paying less than everyone else. A handful of unicorns that went for sticker dont count compared to the total available market

And I paid MSRP for my car, not trying to feel better about anything, I'm just realistic with the current supply vs demand equation

Pretty much ~95% of the 2016 GT350/GT350R purchasers paid an ADM for their cars.

Based on your comments you have no idea and sound much like a previous poster that we have seen on here coming up with the same crap.

The reality is you cant just walk into a dealer today and order or buy an R for less than 10k over sticker.

You are so fixated on MSRP, yet buying a vette at MSRP today would be stupid when you can get them for 10k below that. Value is relative to the marketplace and demand, not a pre-fixed number
