Ah, you are correct my old memory failed me but the fitting needs threads as well.
Hey I'm 51 and I know what you mean, I have brain farts daily. The fitting he pictured goes to the inlet elbow and fits into a rubber grommet so no threads on that one I'm pretty sure.

OOOOOkay, situation is all good again and install continues soon after this post. This is what happens when you put about 12 hours in yesterday working on it.

So, first thing, I found the fitting for the evap adapter. It's ano and not black like I thought it would be looking at the pic in the instructions so that's my simple tired minds fault. Here that is.

Now the o-ring thing. There is an o-ring 'inside' the port but my question dealt with the grove in the casting on top of the manifold. Dustin at Whipple cleared me up on it; the groove for an o-ring on the top is for their rear inlet SC as that is not where the blow by valve is on that setup. What is there in the pic is how it's supposed to be for a front feed. Sorry if I confused you guys out there but it seemed weird to me nothing was there.

Thanks to everyone for their posts of help as I really appreciate it.

Now back to our regular scheduled install......

!

Last nights end pic. Still have a couple hoses to finish up, some electrical connections, coolant, blah blah blah, but basically I'm down to the last 7 pages of install. I'll start it up before putting the bumper back on to check for any leaks or whatever. Should be done today.

All done

No codes and no leaks with the tune installed. Just have to get the bumper back on before I get some road time.

Ha! Just got done reading your post. I have the Ford all-weather mats so I'm gonna double check that for sure. Glad you kept a level head.

Here is a finished pic. Funny how it looks like most everyone else. Overall, I really enjoyed doing the install and by myself at that. If you have a good idea of mechanics and decent tools, I highly recommend it. There are some swearing moments but thats ok and not everything is in the instructions as it shows but it's able to be figured out.

I took it out for it's first drive for about 45 minutes and checked fluid levels, for leaks, or anything else that didn't seem the norm. All temps maintained well and it was 90 here today. Got on some open road and for the most part kept it pretty mellow but jumped on third gear a bit and could feel traction control take over. Got on it in 4th a little later and the power wouldn't stop and 5th gear felt jealous and tried to top fourth but backed it down halfway through. Flight control is set completely at full operational (the way it comes) for now but I'll probably do some changing on the low gears cuz those go by in a blink.

Nothing to do now but drive it. Waiting on wheels/tires and then she'll be 95% done.........It's not possible to be 100%.

Also, it wouldn't work right till I installed this.

Doesn't have to be the summer and don't hesitate to pm me if you have any questions on your install. Got some great tips earlier in this posting and I recommend them and I have others to add. I need to go through the instructions again and note them to pass on.

I hope Whipple themselves are taking notes..
They already have a fantastic product, better install instructions seem to be the 1% extra icing on the cake
