Because it's not the catch can that caused the issue now is it? You are talking about a gutted PCV and a failed check valve...come on.

Ok I am not going to argue with people. If you did not install the Catch Can on the car, you would not have the Check valve in place at all. So there would be nothing to fail. So yes 100% the Check Valve is part of the catch can kit, so the Catch Can kit can cause a failure if one part of it fails. If you want to argue tit for tat, I am sure someone will engage you, I will not. My post stands, as dumb as it sounds, installing a catch can with a rubber check valve in place, and gutting your PCV, can cause an engine failure. You guys enjoy the rest of the discussion....:doh:

The OP said nothing about gutting there PCV is my point so that is why I scoffed at the comment catch can's are blowing up engines. You are the one who wanted to comment on my response. So why I agree with what your saying, the majority of people with catch can's didn't need to gut their PCV because they have no smoking issues (like me with 33,000miles). So to say a catch can can blow up your engine is funny, now if you gut the PCV, use a shitty check valve, or whatever other variable you want to add well.... then that's another story. Have a good one.

Are you referring to my post? We personally had our supplied Check valve fail on the dyno at 30 psi during a run. If the stock PCV was gutted the motor would be gone. The fact remains, yes losing a check valve in the boost side, will quickly destroy your motor.

Pardon my ignorance. I'm just a nerdy IT guy and my car knowledge isn't up to par with you guys. I have a mishimoto oil catch can installed and I'm only using the standard PCV that came with the car. Are you saying you can add a second one as I do have the boomba check valve for several months, but never gutted my PCV and thus never installed it. Can you run two like that?

Also I'm considering a breather as well, just concerned about it being noisy as doo-doo with the ball rattling around.

I will also say I have zero smoking issues. My worse issue so far is that I over tightened a nut on my strut mount putting on a strut tower. Broke the bolt loose and had to buy an 18$ strut mount. I also had a front engine cover issue where oil was seeping through a bolt hole. That was corrected under warranty without issue. Just needed more sealant.

You will not lose any boost pressure unless you introduce a boost leak. Just make sure the check valve is clamped down nicely.

That is the same one they already include in the kit. Also if you notice it says "low pressure".

You need the correct valve, which is the Boomba as it is tested up to 100psi.

Says "Low pressure to open will handle 100psi+" I'm confused on what you are saying the difference is...the amount of pressure it takes to open it?
