The other day I drove the car in sport mode for the first time after I had installed pedalmax (about two weeks ago), it was very hot and humid out and I gunned the car up a very steep though not very long hill, after stopping at the light on the other side the car hasn't been right.
The car now has a chugging feeling to it, seems like it is running hot and has a slight loss of power and of course I have now noticed that the engine light is on.
The mods I have done concerning the engine in anyway was to put in a dry flow performance air filter in the stock air intake, switch from 87 to 93 octane two tanks ago and installed pedalmax throttle enhancement device. After any of these mods the car had been running fine for about two weeks until that pull up the hill the other day.
I looked in the manual and it said most of the time the service engine light is for emissions control issues. I do have a code checker which I haven't used yet but will shortly.
Does anyone right off the bat know what the problem might be? Would it even be safe to drive the 20 miles to the dealer to get it serviced and I presume I should take the pedalmax device off first.
