There was more room after install but looks like the engine settled and moved closer to the AC line bolt. Is this too close? What do I need to look for?

It is way too close. It will make contact with the bracket. This can damage the header. As well as cause false knock causing the car to pull timing.

That's about 3/16" to a 1/4". Where would the false knock show On a nGauge?I think I'll take a file to the nut or try and shimmy the engine over

You would see positive numbers on the KnockR gauge. I had to remove the whole bolt and bracket as well as shift the motor. There is a thread on this that I started with a few fixes.

Problem is these tag the bracket and the bolt under load. These headers are the same as the 11-14s. Not redesigned just different mid pipes. So they do have a slight fitment issue.

Yeah I remember the thread and removed the end of the bolt. My KnockR is never been positive, it goes negative under throttle but never positive.
Thanks for the reply

Then you should be fine.

I just pulled my bolt and bolt mount out completely the ac line seemed fine without it. What I don't understand is if you look directly down on mine just like in your picture the primary under the one you can see in your pic seem to kick out towards the frame rail and I only have about 1/4inch of clearance. I was touching at first but I put a ratchet strap on it and jacked it towards the passenger side from underneath. No false knock but I still think it's to close. I'll be damned if I'm taking them back out though

It's not an issue once corrected.

Really? So I can buy a 11-14 header but use a 15-16 midpipe?

Yes. I was told by their GM they only checked fitment. It is the same unit.

A little proof for reassurance.

Is this only a SW Header issue or is this a problem with all headers?
