Anyone here DIY a clear bra on their s550?

I did a TDI 5 years ago, and it came out pretty dang good. But the Mustang seems to have more nooks and crannies, which may be tougher.

Who did and lived to tell the tale?

Oh. That is cool. So they cut it to your car. Now I am interested. The only shop that can do this work is like 80 miles away.... So maybe this is a good alternative.

This isn't something I would recommend. This stuff is harder to install than you think. I leave it to the professionals to do this.

Ditto, on fairly flat surfaces it isn't hard, but the curves and stuff on the front bumper were difficult. I ended up taking it off and am having a pro apply it next Saturday.... should have just had the pro do.it from the start :headbonk:

I tried to put a few clear screen protectors on a cell phone in the past and got so mad. I wouldn't dare try it on a car with curves and lines going on it. Even my Corolla had some difficult angles with the Xpel Ultimate but man, it was every bit worth the $1000 installed.

I've installed a kit on a VW TDI and a new Mazda6.
It's not that hard. A must do in my opinion.

VW TDI has 134,000 miles on it. The paint on the hood still looks great. Worth every penny.

Kits come with everything you need. Even a 'how to' DVD.

I did. Bought a Suntek Clearbra precut cut for $330 on ebay. Covers almost half the hood, full bumper, front fenders, lights and mirrors.

Turned out well, although there is dirt specs here and there. That is because I did it without washing my car.....biggest mistake ever!

That being said, would almost be perfect, if I washed it ahead of time. Bumper is a PITA though, with all the curves.

Exactly what I needed to hear! I know the bumper will suck, but as long as clean you can keep retrying to get it right. For the price the pros get I'm willing to take the gamble I think. Have to google up Suntek!
