That's like saying the stock cats will heat soak lol same location and I bet the cats will get hotter than the turbos will
It's not so much of heat soak that causes problem but more of heat radiation that the hot side of turbo can send to surrounding parts like tranny. The cats or headers aren't as thick like the hot side of turbo to hold on to the heat.
The blanket basically blocks some of the radiation.

just go buy your own.
Ya. I will. Just offering a suggestion to him for an option that a could people expressed interest in. Since he said they want to offer a wide variety of setups that cater to what everyone wants. I'm picturing an ordering page like beefcake uses for their specials. Different injector options, tune options, different turbos, blankets, handheld tuner or if you already have one. Know what I mean? Build your kit the way you want all on their page.

I would love to see this (when you turn up the boost) run against the Hellion and SBD cars.
May be even the on3 on an auto .
(I just gave up mine for a GT350 but it would not have stood a chance being a manual ...and with my shifting lol).
Good luck and be safe .

Looking for a GT 350 tester car for the TT?
Oh no!!! Sounds like Dejavu .lol
Better not .
May be a KB Kit ?
Lol.
And I swore I was not going to molest this car.

Pesky speed limiter will probably get us on the big end, but we shall see. :)
Hopefully it doesn't. I thought Whipple did 206/207MPH on their dyno testing their kits/cals. Does their flare tool not adjust top speed limiter?

Good luck and be safe!

Since you come from Turbo (with that awesome TQ), you will feel a bit disappointed with GT350's low end TQ. It's a great road course racing car, but not for street driving, where your max RPM may only reach 4000.
A GT350 + TT = 2018 GT500

or = blown engine with my luck so far with turbos.lol::rant:
I still have my Hellion car, but the 55 turbos have been having back pressure issues.
I know another car that had similar issues that was just fixed with the "bandaid" according to my tuner which is stiffer valve springs(The Hellion car has the same).

Not cheap either at $1500(including labour) but better than $3400 for new turbos which would have been no cost if ordered that way.

His car just made shy of 900 rwhp on 16-17psi with E85 so I am hoping for similar results on race gas before I switch to E85.

I would be more than happy with that since that would get me an "easy"(as opposed to my efforts with the on3) mid 9 second pass with the auto.

To be honest coming from PD blower cars(2011 GT500,snake bite TVS/8 rib 12, audi S4) I have not been that impressed with the "low end torque" of the aftermarket turbo cars, even with the smaller 55's.
My experience with my OEM turbos cars was a big motivation for me going TT this time in addition to being tired of fighting belt issues on my 12.

They TT mustangs have been nothing like the OEM turbos(twin scroll/ecoboost) experience with my M235(single twin scroll) and my wife's explorer sport.

Yes,I know they both have "hair blower" turbos and are 6 cylinder engines but I was hoping for similar.kind of like the C63 AMG TT/V8 although that is a 4.0

The cars have lag and torque is still peaky compared to a PD blower car

Nothing like the flat torque curve my 12 with the snake bite TVS/8 rib made.Try >750 lb/ft of torque from 2500 rpm to redline.

In the 24 hours I have been driving the GT350( and almost 100 miles-just cant stop) I have not missed the on3 car once.

it makes plenty of torque(enough for the street) if you keep the revs up(above 3500) which is easy to do as the car wants to rev.

I have not tried to redline the car since still breaking it in but I can only imagine.

I have no plans for now to drag race it as I don't want to be disappointed(like I was in my old M3).Besides I have the Hellion auto car for that.

And the sound is just to die for.

I have a tech car with the Sync 3 which is not bad but I feel no need to listen to anything other than glorious exhaust note(why would you want to drive in anything other than sport??).

Never had anything like it and it is close or even better(different) than my old 2011 GT500 with headers and cats which up till now I had thought was the best sounding car I have ever had.

No need for headers(or even resonator delete) which in my opinion have a "tinny" sound and sound even worse without the cats.

In contrast my on3 car sounded like crap and like a truck when i had the cut outs open.

Travis sorry for the thread jack!

But seriously I may be interested if KB is looking for a tester car for a kit.
