Did you bother checking the coolant level? Has the car felt like it lost a lot of power when it reached 220*F? Has the car boiled over again? You have to attempt to help yourself before someone can help you. We can't hold your hand and fix everything over the Internet.

To the OP: my cylinder temps occasionally get around 220+ when idling, here in Louisiana. These Coyote engines run well when hot though, and I've never had an issue with those temperatures. I wouldn't worry about it bro.

I can tell you with my experience in CA although I had mine supercharged Roush at the dealer. I'm an where from 190-215 I also plan to install the famous 170 thermostat after this weekends Cars & Coffee in San Francisco

220 is totally fine as you mentioned that you're in stop and go traffic. Mine hits 232 quite often after just 5 minutes at the track. I live in the Philippines though. Tropical climate.

Not something to freak out about. It does happen. Even the best techs will miss something here or there.

But checking coolant levels and bleeding air out of the coolant system only takes a minimal level of competence to diagnose and fix. Little things like that, adding the proper level of oil, etc. are things that everyone should know (keyword is should).

As stated, your CHT is with in the norm. The boil over would certainly be upsetting at any point, much less rolling off the dealer lot. Hope they got it squared away for you.

I agree with the fact that it was probably high on fluids and pissed out a bit. They are good to me, this is the third vehicle purchase from them in 4 years.
